  • Publication number: 20180184452
Abstract: An example of a method of operating a mobile device includes obtaining positioning signal timing information that indicates a plurality of times when the mobile device will receive positioning signals from one or more base stations associated with a first subscription to a first wireless network; obtaining tune-away information that indicates when a first receiver of the mobile device is scheduled to tune away from the first subscription to receive signals using a second subscription to a second wireless network; and implementing a collision-reduction measure in response to an expected number of collisions meeting a criterion. The expected number of collisions is a number of instances that positioning signals are expected not to be received by the mobile device based on the positioning signal timing information and the tune-away information.

  • Publication number: 20180139763
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for supporting multiple configurations of reference signals for OTDOA positioning in a wireless network. In an aspect, a UE sends to a location server, a message indicating reference signal characteristics supported by the UE, where the reference signal characteristics include a UE supported reference signal bandwidth. The UE then receives from the location server, positioning assistance data including reference signal configuration parameters for each cell of a plurality of cells transmitting reference signals according to the UE supported reference signal bandwidth. The UE may then perform positioning measurements for one or more of the plurality of cells transmitting the reference signals based on the reference signal configuration parameters for each cell of the plurality of cells.

  • Publication number: 20180126052
Abstract: A system for hands-free nursing and breast pumping includes a breast compression system that uses moldable chambers filled with air inside the cups of a nursing bra or attached to the flange of a breast pump to apply pressure and massage patterns to a breast while using a breast pump. This compression or pressure is radially applied on the surface of the breast, and its rhythm and strength may be adjusted by the user through the use of a controller in order to mimic the best practices of manual compression. These bra cups with the compression device have openings over the nipples so that a breast pump flange can be inserted through them and used in a typical manner for the extraction of breast milk, thus increasing the amount of milk expressed.

  • Patent number: 9967278
Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing applications for risk are provided. In the example method, the applications reside on a mobile device that is configurable to access an enterprise system. The example method includes evaluating each of a plurality of applications variously for privacy, data leakage, and malicious behavior. The example method also includes calculating a risk score for each of the plurality of applications based on the evaluating; and automatically remediating (e.g., quarantining) the applications, of the plurality of applications, for which the risk score meets or exceeds a risk score threshold. The method may evaluate all of the applications residing on a mobile device. The method may include grouping application behaviors, for each of the applications, that indicate an increased risk into groups comprising various combinations of a privacy risk, a data leakage risk, an account takeover risk, a device takeover risk, and a malware risk.

  • Publication number: 20180121563
Abstract: A method for detecting and handling skew and spillover in in-memory hash join operations. To improve the detection of skew and spillover in parallel processing systems, a Poisson distribution of unique hash values to Units of Parallelism (UoPs) is employed to determine the number of rows per UoP and in turn, the potential of spillover at a UoP. Hash join plan options can be selected or adjusted to reduce the likelihood of spillover.

  • Patent number: 9961495
Abstract: A system enables a single WiFi access point to localize clients to within tens of centimeters. Such a system can bring indoor positioning to homes and small businesses which typically have a single access point. A key enabler underlying the system is a novel algorithm that can compute sub-nanosecond time of flight using commodity WiFi cards. By multiplying the time of flight with the speed of light, a Wifi access point computes the distance between each of its antennas and the client, hence localizing it. An implementation on commodity WiFi cards demonstrates that the system's accuracy is comparable to state-of-the-art localization systems, which use four or five access points.

  • Patent number: 9958526
Abstract: Directional characterization of a location of a target device makes use of multiple radio transmissions that are received from the target device. In some examples, each radio transmission is received at a first antenna at a fixed location, and is also received at a second moving antenna. The received transmissions are combined to determine the directional characterization, for example, as a distribution of power as a function of direction. In some examples, the received radio transmissions are processed to determine, for each of a plurality of directions of arrival of the radio transmissions, a most direct direction of arrival, for example, to distinguish a direct path from a reflected path from the target.

  • Publication number: 20180109993
Abstract: A pairing scheme may add devices to a mesh network automatically. Assuming that at least one device is already part of the mesh network, this scheme may allow devices that have not been paired yet to be automatically added to the mesh, eliminating manual pairing processes. When a new device is powered on, it may broadcast a connectable advertisement packet. The payload of this packet may be secure and not understood by the recipient device. Rather, only a server may have a copy of the device key, and can thus decrypt the advertising packet. The server sends a packet back with a network key and information, and the device then becomes part of the network.

  • Patent number: 9947014
Abstract: A computer-implemented method for monetizing future location of users includes identifying indicator(s) retrieved from log data or an electronic declaration that indicate a possibility that a user will be at a specific location in the future; generating a probability that the user will be at the specific location in the future based on the indicator(s); and charging an advertiser a cost for an impression to which to serve a location-specific advertisement targeted to the user, the cost charged being greater when the probability is greater that the user will be at the specific location in the future. The method may be extended to targeting a group of users that expect to be at the same location at the future point in time. Monetization of future locations may depend on the quality and/or quantity of the log data and declarations of future locations and on a number of users in a group of users if monetized according to the group.
