Abstract: A lockable case includes a base casing having two opposite first lateral walls, a top cover openably connected to the base casing, a slide block, and two slide bars disposed respectively on two opposite sides of the slide block. Each slide bar has an inner end, and a locking element to engage a corresponding first lateral wall. The slide block is disposed between the inner ends of the slide bars, and is movable between locking and unlocking positions that respectively prevents and permits inward movement of the slide bars. An actuating lever is connected pivotally to the slide block to move the slide block to the locking position. An elastic member is provided for biasing the slide block toward the unlocking position.

Abstract: A foldable electronic device includes first and second members interconnected pivotally by a coupling unit. The first and second members have first and second positioning portions, respectively. The coupling unit includes a coupling link, a slide link and a biasing member. The coupling link has a first end portion retained rotatably at the first positioning portion, and an opposite second end portion extending in a longitudinal direction. The slide link is retained slidably on the coupling link for sliding along the longitudinal direction, and is retained rotatably at the second positioning portion. The biasing member pulls the slide link toward the first member. The coupling unit permits movement of the second member in sequence from an unfolded position, a first intermediate position, a second intermediate position, and to a folded position relative to the first member.

Abstract: An abdominal exerciser which is characterized in that the moveable mechanism has a main shaft end portion mounted with a leg-hooking module and the top face of the end of the main shaft is a seat pad, and the two lateral walls of the main shaft corresponding to the middle section of the seat pad is extended with a hollow inner clutching member. The end face of the hollow clutching member corresponding to one lateral side of the leg-hooking module is extended with an extended engaging block. The interior of the inner clutching member is provided with a rod for pivotal mounting. The top portion of the two ends of the first supporting frame is formed into a first clutching member which corresponds to the rod. A twisting module is also formed in the abdominal exerciser to permit both rocking seesaw motion and twisting motion.

Abstract: A projecting system for projecting an image onto a screen includes a projector and an image-capturing device. The projector includes a light source, a beam splitter for splitting a beam generated by the light source into a visible beam and an invisible beam, a first image-forming device for modulating the invisible beam to form a first image, a second image-forming device for modulating the visible beam to form a second image, and a prism for projecting the first image and the second image onto the screen. The image-capturing device includes an output unit for outputting a first part of the first image at a first time and a second part of the first image at a second time, and a data processor for receiving data from the output unit and changing the position of the cursor according to the first and the second part of the first image.

Abstract: A method for generating a gain-adjusted tracking error signal in a disc reading apparatus includes the following steps. Firstly, a disc having been defined with a data region and a blank region is loaded into the disc reading apparatus. Then, a start-up procedure is executed, and a seeking operation across an interface between the data region and the blank region is performed to detect first and second voltage peaks of a first tracking error signal for the data region and the blank region, respectively. After the start-up procedure has been completed, the disc reading apparatus enters a ready-to-read state. In the ready-to-read state, a tracking operation is performed to generate a second tracking error signal and the second tracking error signal is adjusted with a first gain and a second gain for the data region and the blank region, respectively, thereby generating the gain-adjusted tracking error signal.

Abstract: A tracking error control system includes a tracking error signal generator in communication with an optical pickup head, a DC detector in communication with the tracking error signal generator and a comparator in communication with the DC detector and the tracking error signal generator. The operating optical signals received by the optical pickup head are operated with an offset signal to generate a tracking error signal. A direct current voltage of the tracking error signal is detected and compared with a reference voltage. The offset signal is adjusted according to the comparison result and fed back to the tracking error signal generator to adjust the tracking error signal.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method of improving seeking precision in an optical disk drive. Determine whether or not a center error signal is within a predetermined range when a short seek command is issued by the servo system. If not, the seek function is executed after a predetermined time.

Abstract: Plasma ashing and/or etching using a solid sapphire disk is disclosed. A plasma etcher/asher of one embodiment of the invention includes at least a chamber body, upper and lower baffles, and a solid sapphire disk. The chamber body defines an interior chamber in which a semiconductor wafer is positionable for etching or ashing. The baffles are positioned over the semiconductor wafer, and distribute gas onto the semiconductor wafer. The solid sapphire disk has no holes, and is positioned over one of the baffles to affect distribution of the gas onto the semiconductor wafer. The solid sapphire disk of the invention provides for more uniform distribution of the gas onto the semiconductor wafer. As a result, etching or ashing of the semiconductor wafers occurs more uniformly, providing for more uniformly thick wafers.

Abstract: A versatile tubular holder for positioning and operating the hex wrenchs includes a tubular holder having a closed end, an open end, a plurality of circular positioning holes of different diameters spacedly formed in the closed end extending along the length of the lateral walls of the holder, a hollow interior extension projected downward from a middle portion of the holder including a plurality of different sized hexagon inserting holes centrally and spacedly formed in one of the lateral sides extending along the length thereof and an opening abutting a pair of stepped inner wall in the other side opposite to the hexagon inserting holes. It is characterized that a plurality of l-shaped hex wrenchs position their tails into the circular positioning holes respectively when not in use and insert their head into the hexagon inserting holes respectively in operation.

Abstract: A collapsible bag expander made by bending a patterned cardboard into shape, enabling coupled pairs of hooked portions of border flaps of panels of the patterned cardboard to be respectively secured together by elastic bands so that the bag expander is automatically forced by the spring power of the elastic band to expand and to support the collapsible bag in shape after removable of the collapsible bag from the polybag, which packs the collapsible bag in the collapsed condition.

Abstract: A steel wire rope lock includes a lock housing, a steel wire rope having a first end and a second end, a first end connector for fixing tightly the first end of the steel wire rope, a second end connector for fixing tightly the second end of the steel wire rope and a lock fitted in the lock housing. The first end connector is inserted into the mouth of the lock housing. The lock is inserted in the other end of the lock housing. Then, the second end connector is inserted into the lateral hole of the lock housing, and the steel bead provided half in the round hole of the second end connector is compressed by the inner wall of the lateral hole to withdraw wholly in the round hole. When the second end connector being inserted more downwardly, the steel bead will be pushed outward by the spring in the round hole to be caught in the arc groove. Thus, the second end connector is firmly fixed in the lock housing.

Abstract: A host adapter contains a RISC processor, a local memory, and a memory management unit that permits the RISC processor and a host computer system to access a local memory. The host computer system writes command descriptions directly into the local RAM. The RISC processor retrieves and processes the command descriptions. The local RAM may be divided into numbered command description blocks having a fixed size and format. In standard bus protocols, such as SCSI-2, block numbers are used as tag messages. Such tag messages allow the host adapter to quickly identify information used when an SCSI I/O request is resumed. The command description blocks may be linked into lists, including an active list containing command description blocks that are ready for the RISC processor and a free list containing command description blocks that are available for use by the host computer.

A second, end of the rope is fixed with a second connecter shaped tubular and having an annular groove near a bottom end, able to be inserted in a lateral hole of the housing to be kept immovable, i.e. locked by a deadbolt with a deep groove to fit around the annular groove of the second connecter if the lock is locked by a key.

Abstract: A U-shaped lock is provided which includes a straight tubular housing, a locking unit disposed within the housing, and a U-shaped shackle. The U-shaped shackle has one end provided with a bend stopper to fit in a shackle hole of the housing and the other end provided with a notch for receiving a flat rectangular portion of a dead bolt to lockingly engage or disengage the shackle. The locking unit includes a cylindrical member combined and rotating together with a lock cylinder. The lock cylinder has a key hole for insertion of a key for rotating the lock cylinder and a projecting block extending from a rear end of the lock cylinder and engaged in a hole of the cylindrical member. The dead bolt is moved forward or backward responsive to rotation of the key in the lock cylinder to cause the flat rectangular portion of the dead bolt to engage or disengage from the notch of the shackle.

Abstract: In a digital data storage audio tape system having a host device interface unit, a main data buffer manager, a main data buffer, a processor, a data separator, a tape drive unit, and a read/write channel, this invention comprises a formatter providing track construction, encoding and decoding, error correction, and direct memory access of digital data transmitted between the host device unit and the tape drive unit and a frame buffer for buffering digital data for encoding and decoding, and error correction. The formatter is coupled between the main data buffer manager, via a direct memory access channel, and the read/write channel of the tape drive, and further is coupled to the frame buffer. The formatter is coupled to and responsive to instruction control by the processor in conjunction with instruction control of the tape drive unit by the processor.

Abstract: An exercise machine making use of the body weight of an exerciser as a load weight thereof comprises a base, a fixation rod member, an upper rocking bar member, a lower rocking bar member, an expandable connection bar member, a seat pad, a back pad, a handle, and a cushioning member. Unlike a conventional exercise machine, the exercise machine so disclosed is composed of no weights. The fixation rod member can be adjusted in accordance with the height of an exerciser. The length of the expandable connection rod member can be adjusted by adjusting the pivoting position of the upper rocking bar member or the length of the fixation rod member. The exerciser can use the machine by seating or standing on the seat pad of the machine for doing the muscle-building exercise.

Each of the cylindrical rim members are formed from a plurality of curved pieces rotatably captured between a pair of binding members.
