    Abstract: A protective case for a mobile device is disclosed. The case includes an additional power source (i.e., a battery) that can supply electric current to the mobile device. A processing device within the protective case may be wirelessly connected to the mobile device, such as with a Bluetooth interface, and thereby control operational aspects of the battery case, including for example control over supplying power to the mobile device. The battery case may be part of a charging system or kit that includes a uniquely designed separate charger. In yet another aspect, the protective case may include unitary bumper flexible bumper co-molded to the body of the case and a male connector extending from a nested portion that is adapted to tilt outward from the case to facilitate insertion of the corresponding female port on the mobile device into the connector and into the case.

The master apparatus sends an access request to the data storage unit through the serial transmission interface. The slave apparatus determines whether the master apparatus is allowed to access the data storage unit according to the predetermined key and a key inputted by the master apparatus for authentication.

The gas control device is connected to the chambers and disposed on the roller body. The gas control device selectively sucks the air from a specific chamber, such that each of the die-suction portions on the specific chamber sucks an LED die by the corresponding gas channel.

    Abstract: A positioning system comprises a sweeper and a positioning device arranged on a ceiling. The sweeper has a lighting component for emitting light. The positioning device at least has a height measuring unit and a plurality of light-sensitive units. The positioning device measures a vertical distance between the positioning device and a floor through the height measuring unit. The positioning device receives the light emitted from the emitting light of the sweeper through the light-sensitive units, and calculates an oblique distance between the positioning device and the sweeper based on different strengths of the light respectively received from each of the plurality of light-sensitive units. Therefore, the positioning device can calculates a parallel distance between the positioning device and the sweeper based on the vertical distance and the oblique distance, and further determines a related position of the sweeper opposite to the positioning device.

    Abstract: Structures and methods are provided for forming bottom source/drain contact regions for nanowire devices. A nanowire is formed on a substrate. The nanowire extends substantially vertically relative to the substrate and is disposed between a top source/drain region and a bottom source/drain region. A first dielectric material is formed on the bottom source/drain region. A second dielectric material is formed on the first dielectric material. A first etching process is performed to remove part of the first dielectric material and part of the second dielectric material to expose part of the bottom source/drain region. A second etching process is performed to remove part of the first dielectric material under the second dielectric material to further expose the bottom source/drain region. A first metal-containing material is formed on the exposed bottom source/drain region. Annealing is performed to form a bottom contact region.

Once the electronic device converts the amplified digital audio signals into analog audio signals, and outputs the analog audio signals to an audio amplifier, the audio amplifier amplifies the analog audio signals to drive a speaker to output the analog audio signals.

    Abstract: An embodiment is a method. A first III-V compound semiconductor is epitaxially grown in a trench on a substrate, and the epitaxial growth is performed in a chamber. The first III-V compound semiconductor has a first surface comprising a facet. After the epitaxial growth, the first surface of the first III-V compound semiconductor is etched to form an altered surface of the first III-V compound semiconductor. Etching the first surface is performed in the chamber in situ. A second III-V compound semiconductor is epitaxially grown on the altered surface of the first III-V compound semiconductor. The epitaxial growth of the first III-V compound semiconductor may be performed in a MOCVD chamber, and the etch may use an HCl gas. Structures resulting from methods are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A semiconductor device having light-emitting diodes (LEDs) formed on a concave textured substrate is provided. A substrate is patterned and etched to form recesses. A separation layer is formed along the bottom of the recesses. An LED structure is formed along the sidewalls and, optionally, along the surface of the substrate between adjacent recesses. In these embodiments, the surface area of the LED structure is increased as compared to a planar surface. In another embodiment, the LED structure is formed within the recesses such that the bottom contact layer is non-conformal to the topology of the recesses. In these embodiments, the recesses in a silicon substrate result in a cubic structure in the bottom contact layer, such as an n-GaN layer, which has a non-polar characteristic and exhibits higher external quantum efficiency.
