Patent number: 6629124Abstract: A method of transferring multimedia data from an input device to an output device in a computer system having a plurality of input/output devices. An application program specifies an origination and destination of multimedia data transfer and orders multimedia data transfer start. A periodic driven program conducts multimedia data transfer in accordance with the order given by the application program. The application program can conduct other processing irrespective of the multimedia transfer state after giving the transfer start order. The periodic driven program operates with a predetermined period, divides multimedia data, and transfers the multimedia data in a plurality of periods.Type: GrantFiled: January 4, 2000Date of Patent: September 30, 2003Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Masaaki Iwasaki, Shouji Nakamura, Tadashi Takeuchi

Publication number: 20030084140Abstract: In a system having servers, clients and a load balancing node interconnected via a network, prior to transmitting a service execution request from a client to the node balancing node, a request for reserving server resources necessary for the service execution is transmitted to the load balancing node. The load balancing node manages the total amount of server resources presently reserved. The load balancing node selects the server having a room of assigning the requested server resources. When the service execution request is received from the client, the load balancing node transmits the request to the selected server.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 5, 2002Publication date: May 1, 2003Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tadashi Takeuchi, Damien Le Moal, Ken Nomura

Publication number: 20020188747Abstract: Stream data is transmitted from a distribution server to a client without any loss of data. The capacity of a reception buffer to be prepared at the client can be made small and the network bandwidth necessary for data redistribution can be narrowed. A relay server interposed between the distribution server and client buffers stream data in an auxiliary storage device. When the relay server or client detects a loss of stream data, a redistribution request is transmitted to the distribution server or another relay server at the preceding stage.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2002Publication date: December 12, 2002Inventors: Tadashi Takeuchi, Damien Le Moal, Shinya Kato

Publication number: 20020049802Abstract: A process executing method capable of performing multiprocessing by using a shared resource without impairing periodical drivability of processes designed for executing continuous media processing. When a process requests the use of the shared resource, abortion of that process is first disabled by the process itself by using an abort disable function and then preemption of the same process is disabled by means of a preempt control module, whereupon the process enters a processing executed by using the shared resource. Upon completion of the processing for the shared resource, the process is immediately set to a preempt-enabled state by means of a preempt control module. After completion of all the processings, the abort-disabled state is finally cleared by using a disabled-abort clear function.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 20, 2001Publication date: April 25, 2002Inventors: Masahiko Nakahara, Masaaki Iwasaki, Tadashi Takeuchi, Takahiro Nakano, Kazuyoshi Serizawa, Shihoko Taguchi

Publication number: 20020044263Abstract: A flat mirror 2 for folding an optical path in a casing of a rear projection television is arranged in the casing on not the side of a screen 4 but a rear or upper side of the casing. In order to direct an optical path of an image projection to a flat mirror 3 on a rear or upper side of the casing, a plurality of focusing mirrors 5a to 5d, with which a light beam can be directed at a large angle with respect to a normal line of the screen and can focus an image through a shorter distance compared with a conventional lens system, are used. Since the light beam projected by the focusing mirrors 5a to 5d is directed at high angle and reflected by the rear or upper side flat mirror 2 in the casing, the light beam is focused on the screen 4 provided on a front side of the casing. By utilizing this projection system and the arrangement of the flat mirror, it is possible to remove an unnecessary space provided below the screen 4 and provides a compact rear projection television having a large screen.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2001Publication date: April 18, 2002Applicant: NEC VIEWTECHNOLOGY, LTD.Inventor: Tadashi Takeuchi

Patent number: 6321260Abstract: Before starting data transfer, the sender node sends the CONNECT message requesting security of hardware resources necessary for data transfer to the receiver node. Each node relaying the CONNECT message secures the CPU time and bandwidth necessary for data transfer and sends the CONNECT message to the receiver node. Upon receipt of the CONNECT message, the receiver node reserves the CPU time necessary for data reception and then sends the ACCEPT command to the sender node. The sender node receives the ACCEPT command and then sends a data packet.Type: GrantFiled: September 3, 1998Date of Patent: November 20, 2001Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tadashi Takeuchi, Takahiro Nakano, Masaaki Iwasaki, Teruo Tanaka

Patent number: 6302544Abstract: In an image projection system, light emitted by a point source is reflected off the concave surface of a reflector to a fly-eye-lens system where the incident light is distributed to uniformly irradiate multiple optical elements. Each optical element splits incident light into a first polarized component and a second orthogonally polarized component parallel to the first component and converting the second component to polarization identical to the first component. Light from the enhancer is imagewise-modulated by an image formed in a display panel and projected onto a screen. The reflector is configured so that any point on the reflector is defined by an equation containing a term of parabola and at least one term of a series of aspheric coefficients of order of even number which is equal to or greater than two.Type: GrantFiled: March 10, 2000Date of Patent: October 16, 2001Assignee: NEC Viewtechnology, Ltd.Inventor: Tadashi Takeuchi

Patent number: 6149276Abstract: There is provided an image projector including (a) a light source, (b) a reflection mirror for reflecting flux of light emitted from the light source, (c) an image display unit for forming images, and (d) a relay system for transferring the flux of light to the image display unit, the relay system including a relay lens having a first convex surface through which the flux of light enters therein and a second convex surface through which the flux of light exits therefrom, a ratio of a radius of curvature of the first convex surface to a radius of a curvature of the second convex surface being determined in such a manner that aberration out of an optical axis of the relay lens is increased to thereby cause a converging point of the flux of light to displace from a calculated focal distance. For instance, the ratio is determined in the range of about 1:2 to about 1:3.Type: GrantFiled: January 25, 1999Date of Patent: November 21, 2000Assignee: NEC CorporationInventors: Tadashi Takeuchi, Hiroshi Uchida

Patent number: 5944778Abstract: A scheduling method of a periodic process of a computer system for keeping the execution interval of each process group constant as far as possible in the case where a plurality of process groups including periodically executed processes are executed in parallel. If a group master process of each process group specifies a wakeup interval period and a required CPU time per period and requests allocation of a CPU time, then a CPU allocation time of a specified process group is secured so as not to collide with a CPU allocation time of another process group, and a scheduling table is created so as to maintain the specified wakeup interval period. In response to arrival of time when one of the process groups should be waked up, a kernel process or a scheduler conducts wakeup by changing execution priority of a process belonging to this process group to highest priority ("raised") in the system, and thereafter maintains the highest priority for CPU allocation time consecutively allocated.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1997Date of Patent: August 31, 1999Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tadashi Takeuchi, Masaaki Iwasaki, Masahiko Nakahara, Takahiro Nakano
