  • Patent number: 5077043
Abstract: The present invention provides mainly (3Z,6Z)-cis-9,10-epoxy-1,3,6-heneicosatriene (formula 1) and (3Z, 6Z)-cis-9,10-epoxy-1,3,6-elcosatriene (formula 2) which are Hyphantria cunea sex pheromones. The invention provides attractant components having high attraction effect for Hyphantria cunea, that is, Hyphantria cumea sex pheromones having high attraction activity and the intermediates which can selectively synthesize such pheromones with great ease.Furthermore, the invention provides attractant compositions with high attraction effect for Hyphantria cunea including such above noted pheromones.Consequently, this invention is completed.

  • Patent number: 4951447
Abstract: A wrapping apparatus designed so that an attractively wrapped package is obtained at all times irrespective of the kind of a film used and the shape of a tray selected. Namely, there is provided a wrapping apparatus of the type in which a predetermined cut length of film fed by a film feeding mechanism is extended at a predetermined portion of the wrapping apparatus, an article to be wrapped is raised into engagement with the extended film from therebelow by an elevator mechanism, and the edges of the film are folded under the bottom of the article, thereby wrapping the article in the film, by a film folding mechanism comprising left and right folding members and either a front or rear folding member, wherein an article mount section of the elevator mechanism has at least left and right head portions disposed at the left and right sides, respectively, and each constituted by a plurality of heads.

  • Patent number: 4861875
Abstract: New steroid compounds of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein X is a hydroxyl group and Y is a hydrogen atom, or X and Y, taken together, form an oxo group; each of the two R' radicals is independently a hydrogen atom, acyl group, a silyl group, an alkoxycarbonyl group or a benzyl group, or the two R' radicals, taken together, form an alkylidene or a carbonyl group, the stereo-configuration at the 22- and 23-positions being either 22R and 23R or 22S and 23S; and R" and R'" are independently of each other a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, as well as processes for preparing same. These new steroid compounds are valuable intermediates for brassinolide and its analogues useful as plant hormones.

  • Patent number: 4672839
Abstract: An improved vibration sensor of a type used to monitor the vibration and knocking level of an automotive engine or the like. The vibration sensor includes a casing having a cavity in which is received a resonant plate composed of a metal plate and a piezoelectric element. The piezoelectric element has electrodes disposed on opposite sides thereof, one abutting the metal plate. The electrode abutting the metal plate has an extended portion which passes around the edge of the piezoelectric body of the piezoelectric element, extending onto the opposite surface with a gap formed between the end of the extended electrode portion and the electrode on this opposite surface. A thin resistor, such as may be formed by a layer of a resistive paste or a chip resistor, is installed across the gap between the end of the extended electrode layer and the opposing electrode.

  • Patent number: 4638206
Abstract: Sheet-like piezoelectric element in which a plurality of slits are formed between the comb-shaped electrodes alternately projected in a zigzag shape from a pair of terminals arranged oppositely, a piezoelectric layer of composite piezoelectric material is filled into the slits, a DC voltage is applied between the terminals to polarize the adjacent layers in reverse directions to each other, and the electrodes have a thickness corresponding to that of the piezoelectric layer. The element may be used for an electro-mechanical transducer or a thermal-electric transducer.
