  • Patent number: 7327912
Abstract: Disclosed is a wavelength division multiplexer/demultiplexer having a grating for demultiplexing a multiplexed optical signal, an input waveguide and an output waveguides. The input waveguide comprises a first sub-waveguide having a width that gradually increases in a progressing direction of the optical signal and a second sub-waveguide having a width that gradually decreases in the progressing direction of the optical signal passing through the first sub-waveguide. Since the inputted optical signal within the increased portion of the input waveguide has an expended bandwidth and the inputted optical signal within the decreased portion of the input waveguide has a reduced side lobe, an interference effect is prevented, which may be generated between neighboring channels, and improves quality of the optical signal transmitted and received in a wavelength division multiplexed (WDM) optical communication network.

  • Patent number: 7327897
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of precisely correcting geometrically distorted satellite images. In order to correct a geometrically distorted satellite image, the position and attitude of a satellite must be accurately recognized. In this case, a correlation between the position and attitude values of the satellite exists, so accurate position and attitude values cannot be obtained. Therefore, the present invention accurately obtains position and attitude information of the satellite by separating variables having a high correlation to minimize the correlation between the position and attitude of the satellite and then calculating corresponding variables, and precisely corrects a geometrically distorted satellite image using the position and attitude information of the satellite.

  • Publication number: 20070246446
Abstract: A continuous butt welding method using plasma and laser, and a method for fabricating a metal tube using the butt welding method are disclosed. The butt welding method conducts a laser welding and a plasma welding together against an object to be welded, which has a very narrow butt space. In particular, the plasma is prior to the laser so that the object is preheated by the plasma, and then a preform is melted by a laser beam in order to accomplish the major welding. In addition, a metal sheet is bent to have a circular section so that its both ends are faced with each other, and then the faced both ends are welded using the aforementioned butt welding method, thereby fabricating a metal tube. The butt welding method and the metal tube fabricating method mentioned above remarkably improve a welding speed and productivity of metal tube.

The pixel circuit includes a driver for outputting a current corresponding to a data voltage applied from the data line, and a display element for displaying an image corresponding to an amount of the current outputted by the driver. A first switch transmits the data voltage to the driver in response to a select signal, and a second switch transmits a precharge voltage to the driver in response to a first control signal. The value of the precharge voltage during a period in which the first control signal is applied to the second switch is different from the value of the precharge voltage during other periods.
