  • Publication number: 20040010332
Abstract: The delivery system of the present invention is capable of quickly and inexpensively delivering digital books. In the delivery system, a plurality of contents servers are connected to a network, the contents servers storing digital audio data of digital books. A data base server is connected to the network, and the data base server has a book data base storing search data of the digital books. A terminal equipment is connected to the network, and the terminal equipment includes: searching means for searching the search data of an object digital book; and playback means for communicating with the contents server including the digital audio data of the object digital book on the basis of the search data, downloading the digital audio data of the object digital book from the contents server and playing back the digital audio data as voice.

  • Publication number: 20030163322
Abstract: The small-sized braille letter reading apparatus of the present invention is capable of reducing a manufacturing cost and increasing reliability and durability of apparatus. The apparatus comprises: a pressure sensor being capable of simultaneously contacting all braille points included in at least one of two braille lines constituting one braille letter, the pressure sensor generating output signals corresponding to the detected braille points; and an analyzing section for analyzing data of the output signals and converting the braille letter into an ordinary letter when the pressure sensor scans the two braille lines of the braille letter.

  • Patent number: 6008619
Abstract: A drive current and a regenerative current are alternately applied to a motor during a PWM (pulse width modulation) time period. The regenerative current is produced by an electromagnetic induction of an armature and flows in the opposite direction as the drive current. Therefore, a rotating speed of the motor is reduced, so that a speed-reduction following characteristic for the motor is improved. By varying the duty factor, the lengths of time during which the drive current and the regenerative current are flowing can be controlled. Thus, the speed of the motor can be controlled.

  • Patent number: 5822284
Abstract: An audio player is capable of reading written data of introduction parts of groups of sentences written on a recording medium. The audio player includes a reading section for reading written data and a retrieving table. The retrieving table includes data indicating interrelationships between each group of sentences and a reproduction-starting position for each group. An input section allows inputting a command for reading an introduction part of the group of sentences. A memory section is provided for storing the retrieving table. An audio reproducing section converts the written data into audio signals, and a control section oversees the retrieving, reading, and reproducing of the written data.

  • Patent number: 5687144
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide an audio player, which is capable of efficiently retrieving writing data of groups of sentences and noticing the present writing data by audio signals. In the audio player, a control section reads a plurality of retrieving tables in a recording medium by a reading section and stores the same in a memory section. The control section selects a selected retrieving table and retrieves the group of sentences therein when the input section inputs commands for selecting the selected retrieving table and retrieving the same. The control section reads a reproduction-starting position of the retrieved group of sentences and the writing data of the retrieved group by the reading section. Then the control section reproduces the writing data thereof, as audio signals, by an audio reproducing section.

  • Patent number: 5386193
Abstract: A partial discharge detecting device for a resin-molded transformer having no-load switching tap terminals on a high voltage winding thereof. An amplifier amplifies the output detection signal of a partial discharge detecting sensor connected between the tap terminals, and an electro-optic converter converts the output signal of the amplifier into an optical signal. The optical signal is applied through an optical fiber to an opto-electric converter where it is converted into an electrical signal. The electrical signal is applied to an indicator. The partial discharge detecting sensor, the amplifier circuit, and the electro-optic converter are held at a potential corresponding to a potential of the tap terminals.

  • Patent number: 5327297
Abstract: A read/write amplifier provides a magnetic disk unit capable of reducing variations of the bias voltage. An output stage provides a DC bias circuit for the read signal and a circuit for producing a high impedance for the read signal. A switch circuit is in a closed circuit operation only when a chip select signal is received. The output stage provides a switching order to connect a constant current circuit to the amplifier circuit at read time and to connect the DC bias circuit at the write time.

  • Patent number: 5233305
Abstract: Typically, in a partial discharge detecting device for a resin-molded transformer with tap terminals of a no-load switching type on the high voltage winding, the output signal of a partial discharge detecting sensor connected between the tap terminals is applied through an amplifier circuit to an indicator. The sensor is arranged on the high potential side whose potential corresponds to the potential to ground of the tap terminals. This construction contributes to detection of void coronas formed in the transformer with high accuracy.
