  • Patent number: 11599185
Abstract: Energy consumption is reduced within an Internet of Things (IoT) device, without degrading operating performance of the corresponding internal circuitry. A first internal supply voltage (VDDa) used to supply the internal circuitry is reduced from a VDD supply voltage to a lower voltage during an idle state, thereby reducing leakage currents in the internal circuitry. The first internal supply voltage (VDDa) may be reduced to a voltage that is one threshold voltage (Vtp) lower than the VDD supply voltage. A second internal supply voltage (VSSa) used to supply the internal circuitry is increased from the VSS supply voltage to a voltage higher than the VSS supply voltage during the idle state, thereby further reducing leakage currents in the internal circuitry. The second internal supply voltage (VSSa) may be increased to a voltage that is one threshold voltage (Vtn) higher than the VSS supply voltage.

  • Patent number: 11509773
Abstract: Echo reduction. At least one example embodiment is a method including producing, by a loudspeaker, acoustic waves based on a far-microphone signal; receiving, at a local microphone, an echo based on the acoustic waves, and receiving acoustic waves generated locally, the receiving creates a local-microphone signal; producing an estimated-echo signal based on the far-microphone signal and a current step-size parameter; summing the local-microphone signal and the estimated echo signal to produce a resultant signal having reduced echo in relation to the local-microphone signal; and controlling the current step-size parameter. The controlling current step size may include: calculating a convergence value based on a cross-correlation of the local-microphone signal and the resultant signal; and updating the current step-size parameter based on the convergence value.

  • Publication number: 20220310106
Abstract: An acoustic echo canceller (AEC) uses a simulated echo from an adaptive filter to cancel an actual echo from a real environment. The echo cancellation is optimal when the adaptive filter response accurately matches the environment response. This can be achieved by changing coefficients of the filter in a step-wise fashion until the filter is converged on a configuration that provides optimal results. The convergence of the filter can be negatively affected by interference due to a double talk event or by an event in which the environment is changed. The disclosed AEC is configured to respond to these disruptive events by adjusting a step-size of the adaptive algorithm used to change the coefficients.
