    Abstract: A real-time multimodal image perception system to transform the standard lab blood smear image for persons with BVI to perceive, employing a combination of auditory, haptic, and vibrotactile feedbacks. These sensory feedbacks are used to convey visual information in appropriate perceptual channels, thus creating a palette of multimodal, sensorial information. A Bayesian network is provided to characterize images through two groups of features of interest: primary and peripheral features. A method is provided for optimal matching between primary features and sensory modalities.

    Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for the preparation of skipjack tuna extract having hypouricemic effect and the use thereof, which is simple in processing operations, low in production cost, and is free from pollution. The prepared skipjack tuna extract has a potent hypouricemic effect, and has a significant therapeutic effect on hyperuricemia, with no toxic and side effects. The method in an example of the present invention comprises: pretreating skipjack tuna to obtain a skipjack tuna slurry; enzymolysing the skipjack tuna slurry to obtain a crude enzymolysis liquid; removing fishy smell and bitter taste, removing impurities by activated charcoal, and filtering to obtain a refinded enzymolysis liquid; concentrating under vacuum and spray-drying to obtain the skipjack tuna extract. The present invention further discloses use of the skipjack tuna extract in health care products or food products.

    Abstract: An epitaxial growth method for preventing auto-doping effect is presented. This method starts with the removal of impurities from the semiconductor substrate and the reaction chamber to be used. Then the semiconductor substrate is loaded in the cleaned reaction chamber to be pre-baked under vacuum conditions before the extraction of the dopant atoms desorbed from the surface of the semiconductor substrate. Next, under high temperature and low gas flow conditions, a first intrinsic epitaxial layer is formed on the surface of said semiconductor substrate. Following this, under low temperature and high gas flow conditions, a second epitaxial layer of required thickness is formed on the structural surface of the grown intrinsic epitaxial layer. Last, silicon wafer is unloaded after cooling. This method can prevent auto-doping effect during the epitaxial growth on semiconductor substrate and thus ensure the performance and enhance the reliability of the devices in peripheral circuit region.

    Abstract: A low pressure drop structured packing sheet with diversion windows, which are formed on both crests and troughs. When in the expanded state where the diversion window and packing sheet are flat on the same plane, the diversion window has an opening and a fan-shaped portion, with the area of the opening being 0%-1000% of that of the fan-shaped portion. Two side intersection lines between the fan-shaped portion and packing sheet is symmetrical with respect to a central folding line which divides the fan-shaped portion into a left part and a right part. The two side intersection lines intercept to each other with an angel of about 10°-170°. When in the operating state where the diversion window and packing sheet are partially folded towards opposite directions, the fluid at the trough flows to a crest of the other side of the packing sheet with the help of diversion windows, thus increasing the area of vapor-liquid mass transfer.
