  • Publication number: 20070150560
Abstract: A host-side wireless interface services communications between a wireless user input device and a serviced host. The host-side wireless interface includes a wireless network interface, a host interface, and may include additional components. The wireless network interface wirelessly communicates with the wireless user input device. The host interface communicatively couples to the wireless interface and to the serviced host. When the serviced host initiates bootstrap operations via a Basic Input/Output System (BIOS), the host interface operates in a BIOS host interface mode to allow input from the wireless user input device to the BIOS during the bootstrap operations. Further, when the serviced host initiates Operating System (OS) operations, the host interface operates in an OS host interface mode, wherein the OS host interface mode differs from the BIOS host interface mode.

  • Patent number: 7232948
Abstract: A method and system for automatic classification of music is disclosed. A music piece is received and analyzed to determine whether the received music piece includes sounds of human singing. Based on the received music piece, the music piece can be classified as singing or instrumental music. Each of the singing music pieces can be further classified as chorus or a vocal solo piece, and the vocal solo pieces can be additionally classified by gender and voice. The instrumental music pieces are analyzed to determine whether the music piece is that of a symphony or that of a solo artist or small group of artists. The classification and storage of music pieces can be user controlled.

  • Publication number: 20070103460
Abstract: Camera motion is determined in a three-dimensional image capture system using a combination of two-dimensional image data and three-dimensional point cloud data available from a stereoscopic, multi-aperture, or similar camera system. More specifically, a rigid transformation of point cloud data between two three-dimensional point clouds may be more efficiently parameterized using point correspondence established between two-dimensional pixels in source images for the three-dimensional point clouds.

  • Patent number: 7184955
Abstract: A system and method for indexing multimedia files utilizes audio characteristics of predefined audio content contained in selected multimedia segments of the multimedia files to distinguish the selected multimedia segments. In the exemplary embodiment, the predefined audio content is speech contained in video segments of video files. Furthermore, the audio characteristics are speaker characteristics. The speech-containing video segments are detected by analyzing the audio contents of the video files. The audio contents of the speech-containing video segments are then characterized to distinguish the video segments according to speakers. The indexing of speech-containing video segments based on speakers allows users to selectively access video segments that contain speech from a particular speaker without having to manually search all the speech-containing video segments.

  • Publication number: 20060257048
Abstract: A method and system for automatically producing a page using frames of a video stream. A plurality of video frames from a video stream or clip are read, and multiple frames are extracted from the video stream, based on the content of each frame. Frames which neighbor the extracted frames in the video stream are also extracted, with the number of neighboring frames to be extracted being controlled by parameters provided to the page production system. The resolution of the images in the extracted video frames is enhanced, based on the information in each extracted frame and each respective extracted neighboring frame. The enhanced images are automatically cropped to enhance the important features in each image, and the cropped images are composed into one or more pages that are representative of the content of the video stream.

  • Publication number: 20060230414
Abstract: A method and system for automatic detection of the end of a video stream, wherein the energy level of the audio content is computed, a window at a time. The computed audio energy level is then compared against one or more audio energy level thresholds. Various features of the color content of the video content are then computed, a frame at a time. The computed color content is then compared against one or more video thresholds. Based on the results of the audio and video threshold comparisons, the end of the video stream can be automatically detected.

  • Publication number: 20060093730
Abstract: A method of detecting a property of an energized gas in a process chamber involves providing a substrate having a hydride precursor in the chamber. The substrate is exposed to an energized gas comprising hydrogen in the chamber to form a hydride compound in the precursor layer. A sheet resistance of the layer is measured to determine the property of the energized gas, such as at least one of the processing uniformity and cleaning ability of the energized gas. One or more process parameters can be selected in relation to the measured sheet resistance to improve the energized gas processing uniformity and cleaning ability.
