  • Publication number: 20100142385
Abstract: A communication system includes a probe transmission server 3 which transmits at fixed intervals of time a probe multicast packet distributed along the same path as a main multicast packet, a delay insertion server 5 which appends the same fixed delay time to each of the main multicast packet and the probe multicast packet, a backup server 2 which generates synchronism and delay backup multicast packets from the main multicast packet and transmits them, and a communication control device 7 which determines the communication of the main multicast packet based on a reception interval of the probe multicast packet, generates a backup main multicast packet from the backup multicast packet when a communication break is detected, and transmits it. The communication system, upon implementing a broadcast-type multicast service, enhances compensation of communication breaks when detecting and recovering from a fault in an IP network, and reduces the network traffic.

  • Publication number: 20100098079
Abstract: In order to distribute multicast packets, using different multicast addresses and avoiding fault points, a backup server is installed close to a master and converts backup multicast packets and sends them as master multicast packets to the client. At this time, backup multicast packets are delayed and sent while the delay is determined from an allowable retransmission time, a one-direction delay to the client, a time required to detect linkage problems, and a time required to establish backup paths and so on.

  • Patent number: 7321560
Abstract: The present invention detects a failure location of network in the Internet. A pair of networks consists of an access network and an Internet service provider network, and a route consists of a source pair of networks and a destination pair of networks. The quality information values are inputted to elements in a matrix that all pairs of networks are put in same order as rows (or columns) of source pairs of networks and columns (or rows) of destination pairs of networks. If inferior quality values in the matrix line up in the row (or column), a failure is determined in a destination (or a source) pair of networks in column side (or row side) corresponding to a row (or a column). If inferior quality values line up in a slanting direction, a failure is determined in a route between the Internet service provider networks indicated to the slanting direction.

  • Publication number: 20070211645
Abstract: A method for classifying congestion paths based on packet delay in a plurality of paths between measurement nodes, has the following steps. First, it receives a measurement data unit including an origin node, a destination node, and a sent time and a received time in a received packet from the measurement node. Then, it arranges the measurement data units of the same origin node in order of sent time, and extracts a pair of measurement data units of which an interval time between the sent times of adjacent measurement data units is less than the threshold time. Then, it arranges the measurement data units of the same destination node in order of the received time, and extracts a pair of measurement data units of which an interval time between the received times of adjacent measurement data units is less than the threshold time.

  • Patent number: 7264642
Abstract: In an exhaust gas cleaning apparatus (30) in which a before and after differential pressure (?P) of a filter (32) used to trap particulates is detected for regeneration of the filter (32), a time at which, during filter regeneration, the temperature of the outlet section of the filter (32) falls below the temperature of the inlet section thereof (?T>M), using a first temperature sensor (36) and a second temperature sensor (37), is determined as being the timing of the completion of the regeneration of the filter (32). The value of the before and after differential pressure (?P) at the time of this regeneration completion is used to estimate the quantity of residual ash in the filter (32), and when this estimated residual ash quantity is the same as, or greater than, a prescribed value (PX), a replacement warning signal (K3) is output urging replacement of the filter (32).
