  • Patent number: 6979568
Abstract: A vector expressing two foreign genes by using RRE sequence and controlling the ratio of the expression doses of these genes owing to the modification is provided. This vector, which can be provided as a lentivirus vector based on SIVagm, is constructed by modifying a virus-origin expression regulatory sequence into another expression regulatory sequence so as to eliminate the dependency on the virus-origin protein. Although this vector has a packaging signal, it has been modified so that the risk of the occurrence of wild strains due to gene recombination is lowered and no virus structural protein is expressed. This vector is highly useful as a gene therapeutic vector with a need for transferring two genes while controlling the expression doses or expression dose ration thereof.

  • Publication number: 20050245169
Abstract: In a wafer polishing method, a within-wafer distribution model of a removal rate and a within-wafer distribution model of a polishing process are selected, and a within-wafer distribution of a removal rate is obtained by determining parameters of a within-wafer distribution model of a removal rate based on the within-wafer distribution of the film thickness before/after CMP, polishing condition data, and the selected within-wafer distribution model of the polishing process of the polished wafer. Then, a film thickness in the polishing process is estimated from passage of time based on the obtained within-wafer distribution of the removal rate, the selected within-wafer distribution model of the polishing process, and the film thickness before CMP of the wafer to be processed, thereby determining the polishing conditions with a restriction that the film thickness at each position in the within-wafer distribution of the film thickness after CMP satisfies the control limit.

  • Publication number: 20050181311
Abstract: A positive resist layer formed on a translucent substrate is subjected to exposure and development to form circular resist patterns disposed near each other at a predetermined distance. The exposure pattern has an opening of a plurality of circular ring shape surrounding the plurality of resist patterns. The opening may have a width equal to the predetermined distance. Since the width of the opening is constant over the whole outer periphery of each resist pattern, uniform exposure can be realized at all positions along the periphery to form a perfect circle shape. After a convex lens shape is given to each resist pattern by heating and reflow process, the convex lens shape is transferred to the substrate by dry etching process using the resist patterns as a mask to form a microlens array with convex lenses.

  • Publication number: 20050065634
Abstract: A thermal processing unit is connected to a substrate position detector, which is in turn connected to a bake unit controller. The thermal processing unit includes a temperature control plate and a lifting device. The temperature control plate and lifting device are connected to the bake unit controller. The operations of the temperature control plate and lifting device are controlled by the bake unit controller. A pressure measuring pipe is provided at a lower part of at least one of a plurality of pin inserting holes in the temperature control plate. The pressure measuring pipe is connected to a low differential pressure sensor. The low differential pressure sensor detects the pressure in an airflow exhausted from a space surrounded by a substrate and an upper face of the temperature control plate via the pressure measuring pipe.

  • Publication number: 20040152871
Abstract: The present invention discloses a novel protein called Synoviolin and a gene that encodes it. This protein is expressed specifically by synovial tissue and also accompanies the presence of an auto-antibody that recognizes this protein in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients. The protein according to the present invention and its antibody can be expected to be used as specific diagnostic markers for RA. In addition, the gene or protein according to the present invention may be used to permit the screening of drugs to treat RA. Moreover, the present invention provides synoviolin gene transgenic animals. The transgenic animals according to the present invention can be used as RA model animals in the development of pharmaceuticals to treat RA.

  • Patent number: 6753578
Abstract: A resin-sealed semiconductor device is provided which allows unwanted air to be bled out steadily and readily from the space defined between the resistor of a plate-like shape and the insulating substrate in the resin sealing step. The resin-sealed semiconductor device includes a resistor of a plate-like form anchored at both ends to the upper main surface of a substrate thereof. A space is provided between the resistor and the substrate. The primary components including the resistor mounted on the substrate are sealed with a curing resin material. • Publication number: 20040072220
Abstract: To specify a substance causing an overexcitation of an Isaacs syndrome and to establish an effective diagnosing and treating method, an immunoscreening method was applied to a serum obtained from an Isaacs syndrome patient. A specific cDNA was separated from a cDNA library derived from a nerve cell. The nucleotide sequence was elucidated and a novel protein, i.e., a neurotonin was obtained by cloning based thereon. The novel protein of which amino acid sequence was also determined is regarded as a key substance of the Isaacs syndrome and is useful for the studies of peripheral nerve lesions and a clinical application.

  • Publication number: 20040067015
Abstract: A micro lens array has a quartz substrate and a coupling plate made of plated metal and mounted on the substrate. On one principal surface of the substrate, lenses and fitting pins made of plated metal are formed. The coupling plate has a transparent window which allows light from the lenses to pass therethrough and guide pin insertion holes gradually increasing the size from one principal surface toward the other principal surface. A taper of an opening end of each guide pin insertion hole defined by a plated layer can be formed by forming a plating seed layer and a plating area defining pillar on the substrate, with the plating seed layer being spaced apart from the pillar by a predetermined distance.

  • Publication number: 20030215206
Abstract: A holder for holding optical fibers has pin inserting holes to which corresponding positioning pins are pierced from one end to another. An optical fiber fixing plate has fixing holes corresponding to the optical fibers and pin inserting holes corresponding to the positioning pins. On an equipping surface of the fixing plate is formed a reinforcement layer having piercing holes corresponding to the fixing holes and pin piercing holes corresponding to the pin inserting holes. Each optical fiber is fixed and adhered by inserting to each fixing hole while the pins are inserted to the pin inserting holes of the holder, pin piercing holes of the reinforcement layer and the pin inserting holes of the fixing plate. A front surface of the fixing plate is planarized by polishing the surface. Positions of the optical fibers are easily defined at an end surface of the optical fiber holder with high precision.

  • Publication number: 20030203489
Abstract: The present invention provides a retroviral vector containing a membrane protein having a hemagglutinin activity. The present inventors constructed a retroviral vector pseudotyped by the membrane protein having a hemagglutinin activity. This viral vector showed gene transfer at a high efficiency into host cells. In particular, it was established that genes can be transferred thereby at a high efficiency into cells into which genes can hardly be transferred by the conventional techniques, for example, blood cells and hematopoietic cells including hematopoietic stem cells, and mucous cells including mucosa epithelial cells. The viral vector of the present invention is highly useful as a vector for gene therapy.
