  • Publication number: 20020003819
Abstract: A bottom plate (4a) of a box-shaped package (4) is made of a metal. Portions of the package (4) (peripheral wall (4b) and cover plate (4c)) other than the bottom plate (4a) are made of a resin or a ceramic that is more economical than the metal. The material cost of the package (4) can thus be reduced in comparison with the case where the package (4) is made of the metal as a whole. A Peltier module (5) is fixed to the bottom plate (4a). A base (6) is fixed over the Peltier module (5), and a semiconductor laser chip (2) is disposed on this base (6). Heat from the semiconductor laser chip (2) and from the Peltier module (5) can be efficiently radiated through the bottom plate (4a) made of the metal, and deterioration of heat radiation performance can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 5926247
Abstract: A method of manufacturing spectacles by obtaining accurate frame shape information without performing a frame shape measurement in the spectacle store. In this method, frame shape information is first obtained after a spectacle frame is manufactured in a factory. Moreover, frame-related information, which includes the obtained frame shape information, or readout information, according to which this frame-related information is read out, is preliminarily added to the spectacle frame. Thereafter, in a spectacle store, the frame-related information is read from the spectacle itself or from a storage unit or the like by using the information added to the spectacle frame as a key. Thus, frame shape information, which is needed when obtaining lens processing information, is obtained therein. The present invention further provides a spectacle frame for use in this method.

  • Patent number: 5895796
Abstract: By using a polymer containing a dichloroethylene structure derived from a vinylidene chloride monomer in the molecule in place of an unsaturated polyester and an urethane resin, there can be obtained an excellent adsorbent which has improved workability in case of granulation and high strength, and causes little deterioration of its ion exchange capacity even after a large number of regenerations.

  • Patent number: 5842548
Abstract: When an assembly in which a sprag is temporarily assembled to a retainer by a return spring is assembled between an outer race and an inner race, even if the sprag projecting from the retainer is depressed, a drop-out of the sprag is prevented by a retaining member of a friction plate fixed to the end portion of the retainer. A lubrication passage is formed by opening a space surrounded by the outer race, retainer, and sprag to the outer peripheral side. An attaching member of the friction plate which is fixed to the retainer by a spot welding is recessed backward by joggling in a downward stairway manner for a contact surface. Therefore, even if a rise occurs in the attaching member by the welding, the rise is not come into contact with the contact surface.

  • Patent number: 5528952
Abstract: A webbed bevel gear in which webs are formed of a minimal size so that the gear can be downsized, while also improving the mechanical strength of the gear. The webbed bevel gear is made so as to be capable of avoiding losses from the webs and so that the strength of the dedendum can be maintained by the webs, while the strength and the wear resistance of the dedendum and the tooth surface is further improved. The webbed bevel gears (2, 2a-2c) are constructed as follows: each of the webs is formed with a concave curved surface defined by the base cone so that it can connect the two adjacent teeth at the dedendum between the teeth at the radial end of the gear, the value obtained by dividing the height (h) of the webs in relation to the module (m) of the gear meets the equation 0.2.ltoreq.h/m.ltoreq.0.6, and the value obtained by dividing the width (w) of the webs along the generating line of the base cone by the width (W) of the gear along the generating line of the base pitch cone meets the equation 0.04.

  • Patent number: 5440729
Abstract: A channel unit is provided between a central computer and a peripheral and includes a plurality of registers for data transfer therebetween. In the event that an error occurs in one of the registers, a processor provided in the channel unit terminates a normal data transfer operation and freezes all the registers. A content of each of the freezed registers is stored, as the error information, into a memory which is provided in the channel unit. The central computer is advised of the error occurrence and issues a reset signal which releases the freezing of the registers. The channel unit receives an instruction, from the central computer, for transferring the error information stored in the memory. The error information stored in the memory is transferred to the central computer, via a data channel, in response to the instruction applied.
