  • Publication number: 20020068590
Abstract: In a time-division multiplexing wireless communication system, an antenna module has plural antenna elements. Receiver high-frequency circuit synthesizes signals from the antenna elements according to an antenna directivity having a desired beam pattern. Demodulator selects one of the received signals from wireless terminals according to the synthesized received signals, and determines transmission beam direction information for use in directing the beam in the selected direction. Weighting circuit generates weight coefficients for setting of the beam patterns and transmission beam directions according to the transmission beam direction information, and produces transmission time slots according to a table listing the relations of the transmission beam directions and the time slots for use in the beam radiation in those directions.

  • Publication number: 20020034967
Abstract: Disclosed is a control apparatus capable of more effectively utilizing radio resources. Mobile stations positioned close to each other are treated as one group and a direction and width (radiation angle) of a beam radiated from an adaptive array antenna 11 is controlled for each group so that one beam capture one group. To be concrete, a plurality of mobile stations are classified into groups by a classification section 19, and an area to which each group moves is estimated by a directivity determination section 20. The adaptive array antenna 11 is controlled by the directivity control section 15 so that one beam can cover an area in which one group is positioned and the area to which this one group moves.

  • Patent number: 5842139
Abstract: A telephone communication terminal responsive to a voice for originating a call includes an antenna, a diplexer, a radio unit, a base band unit, a controller, a loudspeaker, a microphone, a key input and display unit, a sound level measuring instrument, threshold generators, comparators, an analyzer, and a destination number storage. The sound level measuring instrument always measures the sound level of an input signal, such as a voice inputted from the microphone. The sound level measuring instrument conducts processing such as calculating signal power at fixed intervals. The output of the sound level measuring instrument is compared in a first comparator with the output of a first threshold generator outputting a preset threshold value. In the case where the output of the sound level measuring instrument is greater than the threshold value, a result of comparison is conveyed to the controller. The analyzer effects an analysis on an input signal and outputs information.

  • Patent number: 5802453
Abstract: In a radio paging system and a radio paging method, in which all transmitters are simply synchronized with each other with a satisfactory precision. A central exchange and each transmitter are each provided with a GPS clock for measuring time according to a current time transmitted from the GPS clock. An encoder of the central exchange adds to a message received from a network a real time, which is information to specify time to send the message from each transmitter, according to the current time measured by the GPS clock thereof and then distributes the message to the transmitters. A synchronizing section of each transmitter sends from a transmitting unit the message distributed from the central exchange to a receiver at a time specified by the real time added to the message according to the current time measured by the GPS clock thereof.

  • Patent number: 5652752
Abstract: In a mobile radio communication system employing a time-division multiple transmission scheme, having a plurality of base stations and a plurality of personal stations, an arbitrary base station, when detecting a pilot signal transmitted from any master base station in the mobile radio communication system, acts as a slave base station which does not transmit its pilot signal but transmits and receives a common control signal to and from a personal station utilizing a frequency channel occupied by the pilot signal. On the other hand, when not receiving the pilot signal, the base station searches for an available frequency channel, and acts as a master base station which transmits its pilot signal on the available frequency channel to occupy the frequency channel, and transmits and receives the common control signal to and from a personal station on that frequency channel.
