  • Patent number: 5586122
Abstract: In a time division multiple access mobile wireless telecommunication system, a base station has a plurality of frequencies with their priority order previously registered in a memory, selects, upon starting the operation, the frequency having the highest priority from frequencies not used by other wireless telecommunication systems, and initiates communications at the selected frequency. The base station also transmits a pilot signal representative of the priority for using the selected frequency in order to prevent other wireless telecommunication system from interrupting to use the frequency.

  • Patent number: 5276709
Abstract: A correlation transmission coder or a correlation code transmission system whereby the correlation transmission coder generates a transmission signal to be sent on a transmission line, the transmission signal being determined, as with a partial response class 4 signal, by using already-transmitted data strings and data being transmitted by adding a specified length of frame synchronization pattern in each constant frame period. What is characteristic of this invention is the provision of which reset or preset in each frame period registers that are used commonly by a transmission system and a precoder that makes up the coder. Another characteristic is the provision of which inserts, immediately before the frame synchronization pattern, internal data that is added to the transmission data by the transmission system and the precoder.

  • Patent number: 5119424
Abstract: A speech signal is analyzed for each frame so that it is separated into spectral envelope information and excitation information, and the excitation information is expressed by a plurality of pulses. Judgement is conducted as to whether the current frame is a voiced frame immediately after the transition from an unvoiced frame, a voiced frame continuative from a voiced frame or an unvoiced frame, and excitation pulses are generated in accordance with the judgement result. In case of a continuing voiced frame, the excitation pulse position of the current voiced frame is determined based on the pitch period with respect to the excitation pulse position of the immediately preceding voiced frame so that the excitation pulse train is generated at a position approximated to the determined position.

  • Patent number: 5097488
Abstract: A signal processing method and system in a receiving apparatus including a receiving equalizer circuit are provided for extracting transmission data from a received signal inputted via a transmission path every transmission frame having a predetermined synchronization pattern and transmission data. A phase error is detected from the received signal extracted in synchronism with a sampling signal in the receiving equalizer circuit. The frequency of the sampling signal is controlled until the phase error becomes minimum. In parallel, it is detected whether the frame synchronization pattern is present in the received signal in a predetermined interval or not. When the presence of the frame synchronization pattern is not detected after the phase has been stabilized by frequency control of the sampling signal, the sampling phase of the received signal is judged to be in the quasi-convergence state. Then the frequency of the sampling signal is forcibly changed largely.

  • Patent number: 5069009
Abstract: Domed and cylindrical shell structures of interwoven lightweight strips of metal or other lightweight materials, and method of constructing such shell structures. Several weaving patterns are disclosed which provide requisite flexibility of woven strips to enable the weave to be formed into a desired configuration such as a domed roof or a cylindrical silo. These shells have high strength-to-weight ratios and inherently attenuate seismic vibrations to provide protection against earthquakes. The strips are interwoven on a flat surface at ground level and then hoisted into place. Modules of portions of the shell can be prefabricated and joined to other like modules at the job site to form the complete shell.

  • Patent number: 5060268
Abstract: In a speech coding method and system in which a speech signal is analyzed in each frame so as to be separated into spectral envelope information and excitation information and both of the information are coded, each frame is divided into a plurality of sub-frames and a pulse of the maximum-amplitude is extracted from pulses within each sub-frame in order to provide large-amplitude pulses from each frame, thereby greatly reducing the number of pulse extracting processing steps.

  • Patent number: 4903301
Abstract: A speech signal transmission system for transmitting coded speech signals with variable bit rate is disclosed, which comprises a coder for analyzing digital speech signals inputted in a one-frame period and transforming them into coded data comprising a plurality of parameters indicating characteristics of the inputted speech signals, a data arranging circuit for arranging the coded data outputted by the coder in the order of the priority in the decoding of the speech signals and outputting them, and a bit stealer allowing a series of coded data outputted successively by the data arranging circuit to pass through only in a period of time determined by the transmission bit rate. The bit arranging circuit outputs the parameters in the order of the priority of decomposes each of them in unit of a bit and outputs them with decreasing priority. Parameters or bits of low priority are omitted by the bit stealer, depending on the transmission bit rate.

  • Patent number: 4687998
Abstract: A pulse generating circuit is provided for generating a pulse having a time width synchronized with an input pulse and corresponding to a reference voltage. The circuit is particularly designed not to be affected by parasitic capacitance. A circuit for charging one electrode of an integrating circuit with a constant current is controlled by turning on or off a switch in response to the input pulse. The other electrode of the integrating capacitor is connected with a reference voltage source by driving a switch in response to a pulse having a pulse width which contains the time period of the input pulse and which is wider than the input pulse. A comparator is provided for comparing the potential at one electrode of the integrating capacitor and ground potential. A desired pulse is generated by a logic circuit which is receives both the output of the comparator and the input pulse.
