  • Patent number: 5478967
Abstract: In an automatic performing system, when the track is changed to one having a different loop bar number, the bar to be reproduced next is easily determined by first dividing the number of bars accumulated from the start of accompaniment by the loop bar number stored in the sequence track. Based on the remainder resulting from the division, the number of beats is determined and the present pointer is set. In the automatic performing system, by comparing the data at the next address with the part designation data, it is determined whether the read out data belongs to the designated part or not. Therefore, the accompaniment data corresponding to the designated part data can be read out and reproduced.

  • Patent number: 5453569
Abstract: An automatic performance apparatus extracts characteristic data indicating individuality of performance of a player from performance data, compensates for score data exhibiting no individuality by the characteristic data, and executes an automatic performance using the compensated data. The apparatus includes a characteristic extraction unit and a characteristic regeneration unit. The characteristic extraction unit extracts characteristic data on the basis of a correlation between performance data and score data, and stores the extracted data in a characteristic data storage unit. The characteristic data is extracted with regard to styles of performance in association with notes, signs attached to the notes, dynamic marks, tempo marks, the general flow of music, and the like with reference to score data exhibiting no individuality. The characteristic regeneration unit compensates for arbitrary score data with the stored characteristic data to generate performance data.

  • Patent number: 5412153
Abstract: Disclosed is a tone generating apparatus which is provided with a timbre select switch to specify a timbre and a scan circuit for generating key codes corresponding to keys. Pitch control values corresponding to the timbres and key codes are stored in the form of a pitch control table in a ROM. When a predetermined key is depressed, a pitch control value specified by the key code associated with that key and the timbre selected by the timbre select switch is read out from the pitch control table in the ROM, and a tone frequency is determined by the pitch control value and key code. Tone generation is controlled based on the tone frequency.A pitch control value read out from the pitch control table in the ROM is given a predetermined offset to produce a musical tone having vibrato.Further, a pitch control value read out from the pitch control table in the ROM is multiplied by a value specified by an operation panel to alter the degree of adding the pitch.

  • Patent number: 5371316
Abstract: An automatic playing device has a memory which stores sequence data consisting of musical sound data and sequence data to control read-out of the musical sound data. A processing unit repeatedly reads out musical sound data specified by the control data included in the sequence data stored in the memory. A movement instruction switch gives instructions for movement of an accompaniment part to be played. A control device terminates, when an instruction for movement of a part to be played is issued by the movement instruction switch, the operation to repeatedly read out musical sound data if musical sound data stored in the memory is being repeatedly read out by the processing unit. In this case, the control device moves system operation to read out the next sequence data.

  • Patent number: 5315059
Abstract: A preferential order of channel vacating is determined according to a musical character of musical tones having assigned channels, thus permitting a channel assignment which does not depart from the harmony of the musical tone. The greater the number of tones which are equivalent in musical character, the more readily channels can be vacated for new tones, and tones with fewer equivalent tones in musical character may remain assigned. The channel selection may also be limited for low envelope level tones.

  • Patent number: 5250746
Abstract: Disclosed are a chord detecting/storing apparatus and an accompaniment information processing apparatus. The chord detecting/storing apparatus designates tones consisting of a chord on a keyboard, and extracts one of the designated notes. Based on the extracted note, the apparatus prepares a row of note bits excluding at least one note. Using this note bit row as an address, the apparatus searches for a chord table in advance where chord information is stored to correspond to each pattern for a row of note bits, and reads out searched chord information to detect a chord. The accompaniment information processing apparatus detects component tones of a chord when the chord is designated from the keyboard, and generates chord information. The accompaniment information processing apparatus produces specific tone information in association with the generated chord information and correlates the specific tone information with the chord information before storing both information items.

  • Patent number: 5245126
Abstract: A waveform data storing unit stores waveform data only at steps midway among a top zero level step and originally sampled steps at every sampling period from the top zero level step. An output means is included for outputting the waveform data at a moment staggered from another moment, at which the waveform data at the top zero level step and the originally sampled steps are ordinarily read out, by a period of time corresponding to half a step. The occurrence of a difference in phase of the read-out waveform is prevented without the need of a data correction unit. The waveform data storing unit stores midway-step data which are averages of waveform data at adjoining originally sampled steps and difference data representing the difference between the waveform data at the originally sampled steps and the midway-step data. A fine waveform can therefore be obtained while using a smaller quantity of data.

  • Patent number: 5239124
Abstract: An automatic playing device including a memory which stores sequence data consisting of musical sound data and sequence data to control read-out of the musical sound data. A processing unit repeatedly reads out musical sound data specified by the control data included in the sequence data stored in this memory. A movement instruction switch gives instructions for movement of an accompaniment part to be played. A control device which, when an instruction for movement of a part to be played is issued by the movement instruction switch, terminates the operation to repeatedly read out musical sound data if musical sound data stored in the memory is being repeatedly read out by the processing unit. In which case, the control device moves system operation to an operation to read out the next sequence data.

  • Patent number: 5229695
Abstract: An automatic controller for use with a motor. A switch interconnects the motor and a power source for selectively establing an electrical connection therebetween. A relay coil is connected to the motor. When the motor is connected to the power source via the switch, the relay coil latches the switch in a steady connecting state. When increased current overdraw of the motor is sensed, a current-limiting thermistor limits or interrupts the current flow across the relay coil, to set the switch to a disconnect state and to cause the motor to stop.
