  • Publication number: 20070259992
Abstract: Conventional nanocomposites using swelling layered silicates, which are low specific gravity and have markedly improved heat resistance, rigidity and gas barrier compared with talc or mica filling composites, are available. They are, however, much inferior to glass fiber filling composites (FRP) for rigidity and heat resistance if not regarding difference of specific gravity and they may not respond to current high level requirements. The inventors have found that an organic-inorganic composite can be formed by substituting K ions between layers of high-crystalline non-swelling layered silicates composed of mica and having primary particles of large particle size with any positive charged organic compound under specific conditions, leading to completion of the invention which enables production of polymer composite materials having the layered silicates delaminated and dispersed.

  • Patent number: 7285825
Abstract: A support-side substrate having a thermal oxide film on the major surface is bonded to an active-layer-side substrate having a thermal oxide film on the major surface while making the major surfaces oppose each other. The active-layer-side substrate and part of the oxide film are selectively etched from a surface opposite to the major surface of the active-layer-side substrate to a halfway depth of the buried oxide film formed from the thermal oxide films at the bonding portion. A sidewall insulating film is formed on the etching side surface portion of the active-layer-side substrate. Then, the remaining buried oxide film except that immediately under the active-layer-side substrate is selectively etched. A single-crystal semiconductor layer is formed on the support-side substrate exposed by removing the buried oxide film.

  • Publication number: 20070220389
Abstract: Hardware diagnosis of a disk array apparatus is conducted before shipment by using a self-diagnosis circuit, using the same criteria that apply to actual [in-use] equipment. A logical circuit 18 and a self-diagnosis circuit 22 are mounted on an LSI 10. When a test program is loaded to a RAM 28 and a diagnosis command is input to a CPU 26 before shipment, a pattern generation circuit 24 generates a pattern and expected value pattern data corresponding to the pattern under the control of the CPU 26. When the pattern is input to the logical circuit 18, the logical circuit 18 operates according to the pattern and outputs pattern data showing the test result. An expected value checking circuit 30 compares and checks this pattern data against the expected value pattern data and then outputs the diagnosis result regarding whether the logical circuit 18 is normal or abnormal. The content of the diagnosis result is displayed on an external display unit.

  • Publication number: 20070196149
Abstract: A waste toner collecting apparatus of the present invention reliably prevents waste toner from spilling when replacing the waste toner box by opening the front cover of an image forming apparatus as the first through fifth shutters close the respective waste toner conveyance end sections. The first through fifth shutters are locked when no waste toner box is mounted in the image forming apparatus. The first through fifth shutters are unlocked when a waste toner box is mounted in the image forming apparatus. It can reliably prevent an operation error of operating the image forming section with the waste toner conveyance end sections left in an open state as the stay of the cover presses the first through fifth shutters when a waste toner box is not mounted.
