    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to methods and devices for a handover procedure which may include a user equipment (UE), first base station, and a second base station. In one aspect, the UE can receive an indication to handover from the first base station to the second base station. The UE may then establish a connection with the second base station. In another aspect, the UE can maintain a connection with the first base station over a period of time during the handover. The UE can also communicate with the first base station and the second base station during the period of time based on a time division multiplexing (TDM) pattern. The TDM pattern can comprise a pattern of subframes for communicating with the first and second base station. In another aspect, the UE can release the connection with the first base station at the end of the period of time.

Uplink HARQ may include, for example, for a first synchronous HARQ process, a UE selects first downlink resources to monitor for first HARQ feedback based on the first HARQ RTT value, and generates a first HARQ retransmission for first uplink resources in response to the first HARQ feedback. For a second synchronous HARQ process, the UE select second downlink resources to monitor for second HARQ feedback based on the second HARQ RTT value, and generates a second HARQ retransmission for second uplink resources in response to the second HARQ feedback. A user equipment (UE) may measure a physical channel such as a narrowband physical broadcast channel (NPBCH) to supplement (e.g., or as an alternative to) reference signal measurements when determining a received signal measurement, such as a received signal strength or received signal quality of a cell. A base station may transmit an indication to a UE that identifies the frequency at which a portion of NPBCH transmissions (e.g., reserved fields of a master information block (MIB)) is expected to change from one NPBCH transmission to another. The UE may adjust its utilization of NPBCH for determining the received signal measurement based on the indication. Further, the UE may communicate with the cell based on the determination of the received signal measurement, which are based on the indication.

A user equipment (UE) may identify first set of metrics associated with a radio link monitoring procedure on a radio link and identify a second set metrics associated with a procedure for monitoring whether communications of a first service type or having a first quality of service requirement are supportable. The UE may monitor the radio link based on the first set of metrics to assess for radio link failure and monitor at least a portion of the radio link based on the second set of metrics. The UE may determine that a component of the radio link fails to satisfy the second set of metrics, and the UE may transmit an indication of the determination to the base station. The UE and the base station may update the radio link without declaring radio link failure.

A base station may receive an indication from a network entity that a UE is in a DRX/eDRX mode. The base station may configure a WUS mode for the UE corresponding to the DRX mode or the eDRX mode. A UE may receive the WUS mode from the base station. When a UE is configured for relaxed RRM measurements for a first cell and moves to a second cell that supports a relaxed RRM measurement, the UE may return to a regular RRM measurement for a time period. When a UE configured for a WUS mode for a first cell moves to a second cell that supports the WUS mode, the UE may return to the DRX mode or the eDRX mode without the WUS mode for a period of time.
