  • Patent number: 7483374
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining paths for flows within a multi-stage network made up of clusters of processing nodes. The flow paths may be determined without knowledge of whether or not packets of a particular flow will actually traverse specific ones of the clusters within the multi-stage network. In various implementations, the nodes of the multi-stage network may be coupled to one or more physical network switches through respective physical interfaces and a virtual connectivity grid superimposed thereon and configured through the use of a flow routing framework and system management framework to group the nodes into a number of clusters. The nodes of each cluster are configured to perform similar packet processing functions and the clusters are interconnected through virtual networks to which the nodes are communicatively coupled via virtual interfaces overlaid on top of the physical network interfaces.

  • Patent number: 7376701
Abstract: The invention discloses a system and method for access and response to Internet emails, from a wireless device. The system extracts the emails from multiple Internet email accounts and forwards them, on the basis of pre-defined filter settings of the user, to the user's wireless device. The filter settings comprise filter criteria for identifying whether a new mail is to be forwarded to the wireless device or not, and content selection criteria for identifying parts of the new email to be sent to the wireless device. The system also enables the user to reply to the emails in a transparent manner whereby the replied message from the wireless device appears to have originated from the email address. The system also enables the user to dynamically change the filter settings using multi-modal inputs from his/her wireless device.

  • Publication number: 20080098405
Abstract: The SPD according to exemplary embodiments of the invention may interface with different buses and computer system architectures to enable deployment in a wide variety of devices. Heterogeneous network (300) using SPDs in various computing devices. Desktop computers (302), mobile systems (such as cell phones) (304), mainframes (306), workstations (308), PDA systems (310) and other devices may be operatively connected to a network (such as the Internet or an Intranet). These devices may include SPDs (312) to enable web services to be provided among these devices. They may also communicate with some devices that do not include SPDs (such as the PC Desktop System (302) and Mobile System (304) in FIG. 3). These devices would require the use of a SOAP software toolkit for the particular platform, because they do not include an SPD. The SPDs could have different designs in different systems, while they share a common SOAP engine to provide a consistent and efficient SOAP processing capability.

  • Patent number: 7340089
Abstract: A geometric pattern matching method to locate instances of a template image in a target image using a plurality of models with different feature combinations. A learning phase involves learning geometric information about the template image and creating a model for each of a plurality of different respective parent features. Each model comprises a relationship tree from the respective parent feature to one or more other child features, and hence each model may have different feature combinations. In a matching phase, the method may examine a plurality of different models to determine matches in the target image being analyzed. The matching phase may select different models dynamically based on prior matching results.

  • Patent number: 7189376
Abstract: Provided are coated, multi-zoned catalyst substrates that trap and combust hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxides pollutants in a single monolith substrate. In some embodiments, the multi-zoned catalysts contain both radial and axial zones. The zones can be formed by deposition of segregated coating compositions (or washcoats) containing platinum group metals and pollutant adsorbent materials to form layers along the length and radius of the honeycomb substrate. The invention also relates to exhaust gas treating systems that incorporate the multi-zoned catalysts.

  • Patent number: 7171048
Abstract: System and method for determining the presence of an object of interest in a target data set. Portions of a target data set may be located that match an object of interest, e.g., in a template data set, with respect to various information, e.g., edge or boundary information. The invention includes improved methods for mapping point sets or curves to new point sets or curves for curve matching. The method determines the presence of an object of interest in a target data set despite of or using various types of topological transformations of the object of interest in the target data set. One or more mapping operators are determined based on template curves and/or example target curves. Pattern matching is performed on one or more target data sets using the mapping operator(s) to generate pattern matching results, and the pattern matching results output.

  • Patent number: 7139432
Abstract: System and method for determining the presence of an object of interest in a target image. • Patent number: 7136505
Abstract: System and method for determining a mapping operator for use in a pattern matching application, where the mapping operator enhances differences between respective objects of interest and background objects, e.g., objects not of interest. First and second information is received regarding an object of interest and objects that may appear with the object of interest in an acquired target data set, respectively. The mapping operator is determined using the first information and the second information by determining a template discrete curve characterizing the object of interest, determining one or more target discrete curves characterizing the background objects, and generating a mapping operator that enhances differences between the mapped template discrete curve and the mapped target discrete curves. The operator is stored in a memory and is operable to be used in a pattern matching application to locate instances of the object of interest in acquired target data sets or images.
