  • Patent number: 9274092
Abstract: A method and device for packing a chromatography column formed of one or more vibration devices attached to top and/or bottom flanges of the column. Media is added in one or more steps to the column, allowed to settle under the effects of gravity and then subjected to one or more treatments of vibration from the vibration devices until a suitably packed column is obtained. Liquid used to suspend the media while being placed into the column may be at least partially removed before or during the vibration step(s). The remaining liquid is then removed or replaced after the packing has been obtained.

  • Patent number: 7269707
Abstract: A programmable address decoder is common to the on-chip ROM and on-chip RAM. The programmable address decoder conditionally routes accesses to portions of the ROM to the RAM. The ROM address space is mapped to RAM via a set of configuration registers. This permits patched ROM program code and data table to be stored in on-chip RAM. The patched code and configuration data is stored in an off-chip non-volatile memory. This patch code and the configuration to use is loaded into the RAM and configuration registers on system bootstrap procedure.

  • Patent number: 7002369
Abstract: An aspect of the present invention simplifies the implementation of complex clock designs in field programmable devices (FPD). To implement a circuit logic containing base sequential elements (e.g., D flip-flops) with corresponding circuit clocks, a number of modified sequential elements equaling the number of base sequential elements may be employed. Each modified sequential element (contained in FPD) receives a global clock, corresponding circuit clock and a data value. A base sequential element (contained in modified sequential element) transitions to a next state only after occurrence of a transition on a corresponding circuit clock and the transition to said next state may be timed according to the global clock. By timing the transitions according to the global clock, several undesired results may be avoided.

  • Publication number: 20050049186
Abstract: A monoclonal antibody to a steroid hormone is used for the isolation from a combinatorial peptide library of a peptide mimicking the biological activity of said steroid hormone. Peptides having estrogenic-like and progestational-like activity were synthesized and assayed for their ability to compete with the respective steroid hormone for binding to the monoclonal antibody and for binding to said steroid hormone receptor. Peptides having estrogenic-like activity were found to be selective to estrogen receptor alpha or beta and thus may have more clinical applications than the non-selective steroid hormone estradiol.

  • Patent number: 6735652
Abstract: A circuit determining whether a present value transmitted on a bus equals any of several desired values. The circuit may contain a monitor random access memory (RAM) and a monitor circuit. The bits of a desired value at a second set of positions are stored in a location (of the monitor RAM) having an address formed by the bits of the desired value at the a first set of positions. When a value (“present value”) is transmitted on the bus, the bits of the present value at the first set of positions are provided as an address to the monitor RAM, which generates the bits stored in the addressed location as output. The monitor circuit compares the output of monitor RAM with the bits of the present value at the second set of positions to generate a result. The result indicates if the a desired value has occurred on the bus.
