Abstract: A method for generating an optimized regional architecture for efficient national transport is provided. The method integrates vehicle powertrain architectures, operations logistics, and energy pathways to optimize both behind-the-fence and public access energy dispensing solutions supported by local distributed energy resource equipment and centralized fuel sourcing. More specifically, the method provides an optimal regional architecture for electrified national transport modeling. The method assimilates critical data for seasonal operating scenarios to provide a regional specific constrained-optimal infrastructure deployment solution. As discussed herein, the present invention provides local government agencies, industry end users, energy suppliers, and equipment providers with a flexible planning tool to navigate the deployment of electrified freight transportation systems in view of localized constraints.

  • Publication number: 20250242705
Abstract: A dual dynamic wireless charging system for battery-dominant vehicles is provided, including for example battery electric vehicles (BEVs), fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), and hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs). The dynamic wireless charging system includes a transmitter coil installed on a transmitter vehicle, the transmitter coil being inductively coupled to a receiver coil installed on a receiver vehicle. Power transfer is achieved wirelessly while both vehicles are in motion, such that the receiver vehicle does not come off-mission. The transmitter vehicle and the receiver vehicle can travel in a side-by-side configuration, being parallel to each other in adjacent lanes. In other embodiments, a lead-and-follow configuration is used in place of a side-by-side configuration. Vehicle-to-vehicle communications ensure rapid adjustments to speed and trajectory, allowing seamless alignment despite variations in roadway conditions and traffic.

  • Patent number: 12147895
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for finding patterns in images that incorporates neural net classifiers. A pattern finding tool is coupled with a classifier that can be run before or after the tool to have labeled pattern results with sub-pixel accuracy. In the case of a pattern finding tool that can detect multiple templates, its performance is improved when a neural net classifier informs the pattern finding tool to work only on a subset of the originally trained templates. Similarly, in the case of a pattern finding tool that initially detects a pattern, a neural network classifier can then determine whether it has found the correct pattern. The neural network can also reconstruct/clean-up an imaged shape, and/or to eliminate pixels less relevant to the shape of interest, therefore reducing the search time, as well significantly increasing the chance of lock on the correct shapes.

  • Publication number: 20240078801
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for finding line features in an image that allows multiple lines to be efficiently and accurately identified and characterized. When lines are identified, the user can train the system to associate predetermined (e.g. text) labels with respect to such lines. These labels can be used to define neural net classifiers. The neural net operates at runtime to identify and score lines in a runtime image that are found using a line-finding process. The found lines can be displayed to the user with labels and an associated probability score map based upon the neural net results. Lines that are not labeled are generally deemed to have a low score, and are either not flagged by the interface, or identified as not relevant.

  • Patent number: 11753015
Abstract: A system for controlling an overtake maneuver of a control vehicle comprises a controller structured to determine an overtake velocity for the control vehicle traveling in a vehicle lane to overtake a front vehicle traveling ahead of the control vehicle in the vehicle lane. The controller determines an overtake time for the control vehicle to overtake the front vehicle based on the overtake velocity. The controller determines a direction of traffic in an overtake lane that is adjacent to the vehicle lane. If the direction of traffic in the overtake lane is the same as a direction of traffic in the vehicle lane, and the overtake velocity is less than or equal to an allowed velocity, the controller executes the overtake maneuver by one of adjusting a parameter of an engine and/or a transmission of the control vehicle or providing a command to an operator of the control vehicle.
