  • Publication number: 20190389450
Abstract: An apparatus includes a torque circuit and a clutch circuit. The torque circuit is structured to monitor a torque demand level of an engine. The clutch circuit is structured to (i) disengage an engine clutch of a transmission to decouple the engine from the transmission in response to the torque demand level of the engine falling below a threshold torque level and (ii) disengage a motor-generator clutch of the transmission to decouple a motor-generator from the engine in response to the torque demand level of the engine falling below the threshold torque level. The motor-generator is directly coupled to the transmission.

  • Publication number: 20190383757
Abstract: Downhole fluid volumes of a geological formation may be estimated using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements, even in organic shale reservoirs. Multi-dimensional NMR measurements, such as two-dimensional NMR measurements and/or, in some cases, one or more well-logging measurements relating to total organic carbon may be used to estimate downhole fluid volumes of hydrocarbons such as bitumen, light hydrocarbon, kerogen, and/or water. Having identified the fluid volumes in this manner or any other suitable manner from the NMR measurements, a reservoir producibility index (RPI) may be generated. The downhole fluid volumes and/or the RPI may be output on a well log to enable an operator to make operational and strategic decisions for well production.

  • Publication number: 20190353823
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for predicting or identifying underlying features in multidimensional logging measurements. Such a system may include a downhole tool and a data processing system. The downhole tool may obtain multidimensional well-logging measurements in a wellbore. The data processing system may predict or identify underlying features in the multidimensional well-logging measurements—which would be otherwise indiscernible to a human—by decomposing a matrix based on the multidimensional well-logging measurements into a first component matrix and a second component matrix. The first component matrix describes the underlying features and the second component matrix describes proportions of the underlying features. The underlying features of the multidimensional well-logging measurements correspond to properties in the wellbore that can be identified and presented visually to enable well management based on the properties in the wellbore.

  • Patent number: 10359537
Abstract: A method of estimating fluid saturations includes obtaining amplitude values of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) data for a material, with each amplitude value being associated with a longitudinal magnetization recovery (T1 relaxation) time and a transverse magnetization decay (T2 relaxation) time. A mean is calculated as a function of the amplitude values and the T1 and T2 relaxation times for the amplitude values. Hydrocarbon saturation of pore space of the material is estimated as a function of the deviation of the mean from a threshold hydrocarbon saturation indicator and a threshold water saturation indicator, using the processor. Water saturation of the pore space of the material is estimated as a function of the deviation of the mean from the threshold hydrocarbon saturation indicator and the threshold water saturation indicator, using the processor.

  • Publication number: 20190139225
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for finding line features in an image that allows multiple lines to be efficiently and accurately identified and characterized. When lines are identified, the user can train the system to associate predetermined (e.g. text) labels with respect to such lines. These labels can be used to define neural net classifiers. The neural net operates at runtime to identify and score lines in a runtime image that are found using a line-finding process. The found lines can be displayed to the user with labels and an associated probability score map based upon the neural net results. Lines that are not labeled are generally deemed to have a low score, and are either not flagged by the interface, or identified as not relevant.
