  • Publication number: 20210270622
Abstract: Technologies for energy consumption optimization include a computing device in communication with a fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) or other hybrid architecture vehicle. The computing device receives mission parameters and an optimization objective associated with the FCEV and cost information associated with external energy sources. Each external energy source corresponds to an onboard energy storage device of the FCEV. The computing device determines an optimized energy source schedule based on the mission parameters, the optimization objective, and the cost information using a vehicle model of the FCEV. The optimized energy source schedule is indicative of supplying one or more of the onboard energy storage devices with energy from the associated external energy source. The computing device may recommend a component replacement for the FCEV using a component aging model. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Publication number: 20210233250
Abstract: This invention provides a system and method for finding line features in an image that allows multiple lines to be efficiently and accurately identified and characterized. When lines are identified, the user can train the system to associate predetermined (e.g. text) labels with respect to such lines. These labels can be used to define neural net classifiers. The neural net operates at runtime to identify and score lines in a runtime image that are found using a line-finding process. The found lines can be displayed to the user with labels and an associated probability score map based upon the neural net results. Lines that are not labeled are generally deemed to have a low score, and are either not flagged by the interface, or identified as not relevant.

  • Patent number: 10988140
Abstract: A powertrain including a prime mover and an electronically controllable clutch. The powertrain structured selectably engages the clutch to provide power from the prime mover to drive one or more ground contacting wheels and to selectably disengage the clutch to decouple with one or more ground contacting wheels. The electronic control system operatively communicates with the prime mover and the electronically controllable clutch, and uses a predictive cruise control (PCC) controller and an idle coast management (ICM) controller, to control vehicle speed during concurrent operation of the PCC controller and the ICM controller.

  • Patent number: 10960884
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus include a controller structured to predict a change in speed of a vehicle in advance of upcoming terrain and inhibit a coasting event if the speed exceeds a limit. In one form a velocity of the vehicle is predicted using a physics based model of the vehicle within a look ahead window in front of a vehicle. Such a look ahead window can be distance or time based. In another, speed of a vehicle is monitored during a coasting event and is compared against a threshold to determine whether to remain coasting or re-engage an engine to a driveline. The threshold is a function of road grade, and permits a larger deviation from set speed at low grade than at high grade. The function can be based on road grade and vehicle weight.

  • Publication number: 20200298856
Abstract: A system, method, and apparatus includes management of coasting during operation of a vehicle. Speed of a vehicle is monitored during a coasting event and is compared against a threshold to determine whether to remain coasting or re-engage an engine to a driveline. If instantaneous speed exceeds the threshold, predicted speed can be used to determine whether to permit short duration excursions, or to re-engage the engine to the driveline. These techniques can be used whether the vehicle is slowing down below a threshold or speeding up above a threshold.

  • Patent number: 10698722
Abstract: A first cloud computing provider may execute a virtual machine, and an automated migration platform may access the first provider data center using a secure shell with key-based access by providing a public encryption key. The automated migration platform may use a data duplicator command to stream block level copies of the virtual machine (and the stream of block level copies may be compressed before being stored at a storage location). Resource requirements, including a volume size, of the virtual machine may be automatically determined and used to create a new empty volume at a second cloud computing provider. The compressed stream of block level copies from the storage location may be extracted into the new empty volume. A new virtual machine may then be spawned at the second cloud computing provider having the new volume as a root volume. The new virtual machine may then be started.
