  • Patent number: 12198243
Abstract: Techniques for a motion-based online interactive platform are described. The platform makes a motion-based online class realistic and allows a teacher to visualize motions performed by a student in a perspective and how close the motion is in view of an authoritative instructor (model). Each of computing devices used respectively by students is coupled to or includes a camera, where the camera is used by a student to show his/her presence or poses he/she performs. Data streams from the computing devices are received in a control computer associated with the teacher, where each of the data streams includes a video and a set of sensing data. A 3D avatar of a student is generated from the sensing data in the control computer and may be shown alone or along with an avatar of an instructor or model to visualize any differences between the student and the model in reference to a pose or motion.

  • Publication number: 20250012116
Abstract: An anti-theft device for securing an article of merchandise against unauthorized removal from a display counter. The anti-theft device has a pedestal with a quick-release interface. The pedestal has an appendage positioned within a slot of the display counter. An actuation module is positioned underneath the display counter and couples to the appendage of the pedestal. A securing bracket attaches to merchandise and has a latch plate configured to couple to the quick-release interface of the pedestal. A latch disposed within the pedestal engages the latch plate to lock the securing bracket relative to the quick-release interface. An electromechanical actuator is housed within an actuation module and is operatively connected to the latch. Upon actuation, the electromechanical actuator disengages the latch from the latch plate, thereby releasing the securing bracket from the pedestal.

  • Publication number: 20250012572
Abstract: A gyroscope comprises first and second light sources that emit first and second beams with broadband spectrums, and a waveguide arrangement that communicates with the light sources. A resonator communicates with the waveguide arrangement to receive the beams. A first circulator is coupled to the waveguide arrangement between the first light source and the resonator. A second circulator is coupled to the waveguide arrangement between the second light source and the resonator. A first rate detector communicates with the resonator through the first circulator, and a second rate detector communicates with the resonator through the second circulator. The rate detectors produce rate measurements based on a detected resonance frequency shift of the beams in the resonator caused by rotation of the gyroscope. Outputs of the rate detectors are used to calculate a rotation rate that is corrected for errors due to a time varying pathlength change in the resonator.

  • Publication number: 20250016403
Abstract: A content selector switch selects, based on a received request for content from a particular remote control device, a multicast network on which to provide the requested particular content. Each multicast network channel of the plurality of multicast network channels is mapped to a respective video channel and each remote control device in the facility (e.g., hotel) is mapped to a respective video channel that the TV controlled by the remote control device stays tuned to. The content selector switch performs the selection by identifying which remote control device in the facility sent the request and selecting the multicast network channel that is mapped to the RF video channel the identified remote control device is mapped to. The content selector switch then provides the specific content on the selected multicast network channel to a multicast-to-channel output device that provides the content on the RF video channel for the TV tuned to that RF video channel to display.

  • Publication number: 20250012982
Abstract: A beam steering structure includes an alignment structure shaped to receive and align an optical fiber such that an axis of a core of the optical fiber is oriented in a first direction. The beam steering structure includes an end portion having an angled optical surface oriented at a non-zero angle relative to the first direction. The end portion is shaped and positioned so that light propagating along the first direction from the optical fiber passes through the end portion to reach the angled optical surface. A reflecting system is positioned on the angled optical surface across the first direction. The reflecting system is configured to reflect incident light propagating along the first direction into a first reflected beam of a first polarization and a second reflected beam of a second polarization. The first and second reflected beams are directed into first and second optical communication channels, respectively.

  • Patent number: 12188998
Abstract: A photonics device for threshold magnetometry includes an absorbent material with nonlinear optical susceptibility, such as a diamond material with nitrogen vacancy defects, that is disposed in an optical resonator. The optical resonator receives light from an input source and includes nonlinear optical properties that enable the resonator to undergo a nonlinear photon generation process at a certain threshold power level to generate photons at distinct frequencies from the input light. The absorbent material absorbs photons entering the resonator when excited, which causes the threshold power level to shift as a function of the absorption. This may cause the optical resonator to stop generating photons via the nonlinear photon generation process and output a change in power. The change in power can be used to determine the characteristics of a present magnetic field.
