  • Publication number: 20240348308
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for uplink channel state information (CSI) reporting that supports transmission precoding matrix indicator (TPMI) selection. A user equipment (UE) may receive CSI reference signals (CSI-RSs), and may perform measurements on the CSI-RSs. The UE may transmit an uplink CSI report to a base station based on the measurements. The CSI report may include an indication of a set of one or more candidate TPMIs, rank indicators (RIs), or both. The base station may test the candidate TPMIs, one or more other TPMIs, or both, to received sounding reference signals (SRSs) and select a TPMI for subsequent signaling. The base station may transmit an uplink grant (e.g., via downlink control information (DCI)) indicating the selected TPMI. The DCI may be a single-stage DCI a timeline.

  • Patent number: 12119973
Abstract: Sounding reference signals (SRS) transmitted by a UE, e.g., for positioning or channel estimation, may be configured for one or both of frequency tone level cyclic shift and symbol level code, which, for example, enables multiplexing a greater number of UEs. The frequency tone level cyclic shift is produced by jointly processing a number of symbols with an extended cyclic shift structure. The SRS may be configured using a symbol group level that indicates the number of symbols associated with a cyclic shift structure, and an outer code that indicates a multiplier applied to the SRS at the symbol level, which increases the multiplexing opportunities. The symbol level code may further indicate an extended cyclic shift indicating a linear increase in phase rotation across tones in symbols associated with the symbol group level.

  • Publication number: 20240340909
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Wireless communications systems may employ one or more scheduling constraints to support efficient utilization of techniques for intra-device handling of overlapping scheduled uplink transmissions (e.g., intra-device dynamic resource cancelation and multiplexing) as well as inter-device handling of overlapping scheduled uplink transmissions (e.g., inter-device dynamic resource cancelation and multiplexing). Scheduling constraints may define how a device may apply intra-device and inter-device multiplexing and cancelation rules for various scenarios. For example, a device may apply intra-UE cancelation rules before inter-device cancelation rules. In some examples, later-received grants or uplink preemption indications (ULPIs) may not change a device's previously established decision to drop an uplink transmission.

  • Patent number: 12114356
Abstract: Fallback procedures for user equipments (UEs) are described that provide efficient fallback to a four-step random access procedure from a two-step random access procedure. For example, after transmitting a first message of a two-step random access procedure, a UE may start a fallback timer or counter and monitor for a second message of the two-step random access procedure for the duration of the fallback timer or counter. At the expiration of the fallback timer or counter, the UE may fall back to a four-step random access procedure.
