  • Patent number: 8113927
Abstract: A tool has a first member cooperatively associated with a second member. The first member has a first gripper integral at an end thereof. The first member has an internal longitudinal groove in communication with a plurality of internal spaced locking grooves. The second member has a second gripper attached at a first end. The second member has a projection at a second end. The projection of the second member is received by the longitudinal groove. The second member is moveable with respect to the first member between a fully contracted position and a plurality of extended positions. In one of the plurality of extended positions, the protrusion is selectively received in one of the plurality of locking grooves to lock the members in one of the plurality of extended positions.

  • Patent number: 7939376
Abstract: A semiconductor die is attached to a packaging substrate by a patterned layer of conductive metal that includes voids. The voids provide a space into which the metal may expand when heated in order to avoid placing mechanical stress on the bonds caused by mismatches in the thermal coefficients of thermal expansion of the die, the conductive metal bond layer and the substrate. An additional coating of conductive metal may be flowed over the bond lines to reinforce the bonds.

  • Publication number: 20110094287
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for using a reference meter to provide automated calibration for a fuel dispenser are disclosed. According to one method, first historical metering data associated with a fuel flow meter and second historical metering data associated with a reference meter are maintained within a memory. The first historical metering data is compared with the second historical metering data. It is determined whether a difference exists between the first historical metering data and the second historical metering data that can be corrected by calibration of the fuel flow meter. In response to determining that a difference exists between the first historical metering data and the second historical metering data that can be corrected by calibration of the fuel flow meter, an automated calibration of the fuel flow meter is performed.

  • Patent number: 7933572
Abstract: A typical cable television (CATV) network can be used as a communication link between a remote antenna system and a cellular base station (BTS). To do so, capacity of the typical CATV network is expanded to add use of an additional frequency spectrum, the added frequency is then divided into frequency channels (bands) of which each channel is digitized (e.g., using QAM) to produce a certain amount data bandwidth per channel, and a certain number of those channels are concatenated together to provide an aggregate data channel for carrying traffic between the cellular BTS and the remote antenna system (e.g., a distributed antenna system (DAS)).

  • Patent number: 7925270
Abstract: A wireless communication system has a plurality of base stations. The wireless communication system maintains a data structure that indicates wireless communication capacity for the base stations by time. The wireless communication system processes a user location and the data structure to select base stations having capacity during selected timeframes. A user communication interface has antennas that exchange wireless communications with the selected base stations. The user communication interface selects the antennas to use for the wireless communications with the selected base stations.

  • Publication number: 20110025516
Abstract: A method of parsing a natural language phrase to retrieve data associated with a power monitoring system. An input receives a natural language phrase including terms, one of which indicates a data manipulation action for manipulating data of the power monitoring system. A parser component parses the phrase to extract the terms and maps those terms to corresponding category items. The parser component constructs a structured query based on the category items and provides the query to a processor component that retrieves the data from a data source specified in the submitted phrase. The processor component also manipulates the data according to the data manipulation action. The output from the processor component is provided to a presentation component that formats the manipulated data for presentation on a video display, and the formatted manipulated data is displayed on the video display.

  • Patent number: 7831702
Abstract: An energy efficiency solution for automatically pushing data measured by IEDs in a utility system to an Internet server. Before the utility system is commissioned, the manufacturer pre-configures each IED to automatically push measured data to the server at regular intervals and associates each IED with a unique identifier that is transmitted with the data and with a customer who has purchased the solution. After commissioning, the IEDs come online and begin to automatically push their measured data to the server. The customer logs into the website via a manufacturer-provided access code to access the measured data instantly. Requests to change the type of data pushed from IEDs and other configuration changes can be made via the website. Periodically, the IEDs ask whether any configuration updates exist, and if so, the server makes available to the IEDs the updated configuration. By having IEDs initiate communications for data transmission and configuration updates, intervening firewalls are bypassed.

  • Publication number: 20100271218
Abstract: A fluid medication delivery monitoring device is disclosed. The device includes a memory configured to receive volume information indicating a volume of fluid medication in a container. The device also includes a processor configured to determine a time remaining value indicating an approximate amount of time remaining until the dispensable volume of fluid medication in the container reaches about zero, and configured to compare the determined time remaining value to a lead-time threshold to prepare a replacement container with a volume of fluid medication. The device further includes a display device configured to display a status of the container, the status includes the time remaining value and a description of the fluid medication in the container. A method for monitoring fluid medication delivery is also disclosed.
