    Abstract: A computing device capable of instant messaging (IM) contains IM anti-malware software for preventing the transmission of malware-created IMs and opening potentially harmful IMs that it receives. When transmitting an IM, the software checks to ensure that the message being sent was created by the user (a human being) and not by IM malware, such as an IM BOT. This is done by copying details of a message as it is being typed by a user into a database and searching for that data before an IM is transmitted from the device. The software also ensures that when it receives an IM from an outside source, that the message contains a special encrypted signal that was inserted into the message by the source when the source has determined that the message was created by a human being. If the special signal is not found, it is presumed that the message was created by malware and may be discarded.

The apparatus includes at least a memory, a processor, a browsing application, and an image blocking component. The image blocking component is configured to block or blur images with unwanted image features before the images are displayed by the browsing application. Another embodiment relates to a process for blocking or blurring unwanted image features prior to displaying web pages. A web page including an image is received, but it is not displayed the image until after checking the image for unwanted image features. Image features are extracted from the image, and the extracted image features are compared against features in a customized image feature database. The image is displayed if no match is found during said comparison. The image is blocked or blurred if a match is found during said comparison. Other embodiments are also disclosed.

    Abstract: An engineered process of manufacturing a carbon capturing agent calcium aluminum carbonate Ca—Al—CO3 includes steps of mixing, solid-liquid separation, drying and extrusion, crushing and conveying, and calcined molding. The acid bath of Ca+2 and Al+3 is mixed with the alkaline bath of Na2CO3 and NaOH while stirring to form slurry which are then subject to solid-liquid separation to obtain a filtrated cake. The filtrated cake is place into a drying and extrusion device to obtain granular material. The granular material is placed in a conveying and crushing equipment to obtain a powder material. The powder material is calcined at furnace for forming a Ca—Al—CO3, which is nano-layered composite with high porosity. Thereby, the preparation of a solid sorbent can be scale up under systematically controlled with yield of at least batches of kilograms used in medium-high temperature (400˜800° C.) CO2 capture.

    Abstract: A user is able to save his operating system settings to a web server. The user may then download these known, clean operating system over the Internet to the same computer in the future or to a different computer. Or, a user is able to save a known, good restore point to a secure site on the web. If the user suspects that his computer has been compromised by malware, the user downloads this original restore point from over the Internet. The computer is then restored to a known, good state prior to the malware infection. In addition, an entire operating system is present on a USB drive and the user runs his computer from the USB drive. The USB drive is inserted into a publicly-accessible computer. Drivers and network settings from the computer are installed on the USB drive and the operating system on the USB drive then reboots and executes on the computer.
