The device comprises a semiconductor die, a passivation layer, a wiring redistribution layer (RDL), an Ni/Au layer, and a solder mask. The semiconductor die comprises a top metal exposed in an active surface thereof. The passivation layer overlies the active surface of the semiconductor die, and comprises a through passivation opening overlying the top metal. The wiring RDL, comprising an Al layer, overlies the passivation layer, and electrically connects to the top metal via the passivation opening. The solder mask overlies the passivation layer and the wiring RDL, exposing a terminal of the wiring RDL.

    Abstract: The invention provides an electronic device package and a method for fabricating the same. The electronic device package includes a carrier wafer. An electronic device chip with a plurality of conductive pads thereon is disposed over the carrier wafer. An isolation laminating layer includes a lower first isolation layer, which covers the carrier wafer and the electronic device chip, and an upper second isolation layer. The isolation laminating layer has a plurality of openings to expose the conductive pads. A plurality of redistribution patterns is conformably formed on the isolation laminating layer and in the openings. The redistribution patterns are electrically connected to the conductive pads, respectively. A plurality of conductive bumps is respectively formed on the redistribution patterns, electrically connected to the conductive pads.

    Abstract: A highly sensitive movable touchpad is disclosed in the present invention. It is used for laptop computers and has a slidable template for users to move so that a cursor can be controlled by the touchpad. A resistive or capacitive detecting surface can be applied for detecting users' click, double click, drag, or scroll motion on any point of the surface. Additionally, there is an optical displacement sensor provided under the slidable template for detecting surface information on the back surface of the slidable template. A sequence of images of surface movement are processed by an image processing unit. Then, relative movement information is calculated and sent to an operating system in the computer. The operating system controls the cursor with the relative movement information. The present invention uses edge detectors for dynamically controlling the cursor and calibrating location of the cursor so that positioning of the touchpad is synchronous with the cursor.

    Abstract: A method of fabricating an active device array substrate is provided. A substrate having scan lines, data lines and active devices formed thereon is provided. Each of the active devices is electrically connected to the corresponding scan line and data line. An organic material layer is formed over the substrate to cover the scan lines, the data lines and the active devices. Then, a plasma treatment is performed to the surface of the organic material layer to form a number of concave patterns. The dimension of each of the concave patterns is smaller than one micrometer. Afterward, pixel electrodes are formed on the organic material layer and each of the pixel electrodes is electrically connected to one of the corresponding active devices.

    Abstract: A method and system for positioning by using optical speckle are disclosed in this invention. A highly coherent laser light irradiates a positioning template in advance to record optical speckles caused by interference by scattered light beams from the positioning template for establishing a speckle database. Furthermore, a reference point is defined to position each recorded speckle. Therefore, a coordinate with respect to the reference point corresponding to a specified speckle can be used to position a target or applied to distance measurement by the speckle database. The precision of the speckles according to the present invention is within several micrometers. Hence, it can provide high precision positioning.

    Abstract: Apparatus and methods are disclosed herein for a reverse-connection STT MTJ element of a MRAM to overcome the source degeneration effect when switching the magnetization of the MTJ element from the parallel to the anti-parallel direction. A memory cell of a MRAM having a reverse-connection MTJ element includes a switching device having a source, a gate, and a drain, and a reverse-connection MTJ device having a free layer, a fixed layer, and an insulator layer interposed between the free layer and the fixed layer. The free layer of the reverse-connection MTJ device is connected to the drain of the switching device and the fixed layer is connected to a bit line (BL). The reverse-connection MTJ device applies the lower IMTJ capability of the memory cell caused by the source degeneration effect to the less stringent IMTJ(AP->P) while preserving the higher IMTJ capability for the more demanding IMTJ(P->AP).

    Abstract: A memory refresh system includes a comparative detection circuit, a logic circuit, and a timing circuit. The comparative detection circuit detects a voltage of the storage capacitor of a memory cell of the memory and generates a corresponding digital code by comparing the voltage with a reference voltage. Each memory cell has a corresponding digital code. The combination of the digital codes of the memory cells forms a first state. After a specific period of time, the voltages of the storage capacitors of the memory cells are once detected by the comparative detection circuit, and corresponding digital codes are generated and combined to form a second state. The logic circuit compares the first state and the second state to determining whether or not to change the refresh period of a refresh period detecting process. The timing circuit changes the refresh period according to the determination result of the logic circuit.

    Abstract: The disclosure is a network interface controller (NIC) capable of sharing buffers, which is coupled to a host and a network to make the network connection. The NIC includes a transmitting buffer, a transmitting controller, a receiving buffer, and a receiving controller. The transmitting controller controls the transmitting buffer to transmit the transmission data provided by the host to the network. The receiving controller controls the receiving buffer to transmit the reception data received from the network to the host, and determines a storage capacity of the receiving buffer. When the storage capacity is smaller than a set value, the receiving controller transmits a request signal to the transmitting controller, the transmitting controller generates a response signal according to the request signal and a status signal corresponding to the transmitting buffer, and the receiving controller controls whether reception data is stored in the transmitting buffer according to the response signal.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a chip resistor having a low resistance. The method includes the following steps: (a) providing a substrate having a top surface; (b) sputtering a conducting layer directly on the top surface of the substrate, so that the conducting layer and the substrate contact each other, wherein the material of the conducting layer comprises nickel or copper; and (c) plating at least one metal layer directly on the conducting layer, so that the metal layer and the conducting layer contact each other, wherein the material of the metal layer comprises nickel or copper, and the conducting layer and the metal layer provide a resistive layer. As a result, the resistive layer has a precise pattern, and the duration of sputtering is reduced, so the yield rate and the efficiency are improved and the manufacturing cost is cut down.
