  • Publication number: 20060066994
Abstract: A disk drive with DTR media and method of assembly is described. The method may include aligning a discrete track recording (DTR) track pattern center on a DTR disk with a rotational center of a spindle hub and mounting the DTR disk on the spindle hub to minimize eccentricity. After the DTR disk is mounted to the spindle hub, it may be rotated to a designed rotational speed and the mass imbalance of the rotating DTR disk/spindle hub may be measured. The mass imbalance may be mitigated using a mechanical component such as a counter weight coupled to a spindle rotatable component, for example, the spindle hub, a spacer assembly, a clamp assembly, etc. The method may mitigate the eccentricity associated with DTR media and minimize run-out due to the mass imbalance of an otherwise rotated DTR disk/hub aligned for eccentricity correction.

  • Publication number: 20050068927
Abstract: This invention discloses a method of transmitting data through Local Area Network by abandoning the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) to eliminate the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) and avoid unnecessary delay and communication flow. The present invention also abandons the concept of TCP/IP address, so that it is not necessary to maintain the huge TCP/IP address database in wireless LAN in order to implement the gapless roaming and reduce packet conflict during the transmission process by defining a smaller capacity for the data packet head in the high-speed wireless LAN standard IEEE 802.11 protocol.

  • Patent number: 6785344
Abstract: The present invention includes a system that determines a threshold to distinguish between binary signals. The system includes a bit wise threshold determination device coupled to receive an input signal and that delays the input signal, averages the input signal and the delayed input signal, and outputs the average to an output node. The average represents a threshold value. This system can be used in any system that must determine a threshold between binary values.

  • Patent number: 6538879
Abstract: The present invention provides an assembly frame of computer housing capable of rotating and positioning, which comprises a frame body, a first assembly frame, a second assembly frame, a slide structure, and a retaining device. The first assembly frame is fixedly locked in the frame body. The second assembly frame is pivotally joined on the frame body. Through sliding of the slide structure, the second assembly frame can be turned over outwards to facilitate assembly or disassembly for a computer maintenance man. Contrarily, the second assembly frame can reach a predetermined position to let the second assembly frame be hooked on the first assembly frame through retaining of the retaining device, thereby achieving the object of positioning.

  • Patent number: 6439254
Abstract: An MFC controlling device automation method and related system. The method mainly comprises the steps of automatically controlled algorithmic obtaining of MFC open loop system parameters by an identification technique; automatically controlled algorithmic determining of PI control parameters by a dominant pole-placement method; and automatically controlled calculating of a fuzzy logic rule table. The steps form an automatically controlled single closed loop. By performing said steps, multiple PI control parameter sets are obtainable fast and in an automatic way, and a calculation is done to form a refined fuzzy rule data table, so that a greatly enhanced MFC reaction function is attained.
