  • Patent number: 7245540
Abstract: A method of controlling a delay locked loop (DLL) in a memory device is provided. The DLL generates an internal clock signal based on an external clock signal. The DLL constantly responds to variations in operating condition of the memory device to keep the external and internal clock synchronized. The method involves preventing the DLL from responding to a change in operating condition such as a change in the supply voltage of the memory device during an operational mode of the memory device such as an active mode, a read mode, or a refresh mode.

  • Publication number: 20070140693
Abstract: An optical communication system includes a first wavelength filter, a bidirectional amplifier, and a second wavelength filter. The first wavelength filter can receive a downstream broad-spectrum signal and output a downstream spectrum-sliced signal in response to the downstream broad-spectrum signal. The bidirectional amplifier can amplify the downstream spectrum-sliced signal. The second wavelength filter can receive the amplified downstream spectrum-sliced signal from the bidirectional amplifier and route the amplified downstream spectrum-sliced signal. The second wavelength filter can also output an upstream spectrum-sliced signal in response to an upstream broad-spectrum signal. The bidirectional amplifier can amplify the upstream spectrum-sliced signal to product an amplified upstream spectrum-sliced signal that is subsequently routed by the first wavelength filter.

  • Patent number: 7227812
Abstract: Disclosed herein are exemplary embodiments of an improved write address shift register structure useful for example in a DDR3 DRAM having read/write latency. The disclosed shift register structure propagates write addresses from an address bus outside the device to array decoders to allow latent data to be written into the cells in the memory array at a proper time. The register structure comprises a reduced number of registers (e.g., four) thus eliminating the need for extraneous registers which might otherwise be used to propagate “don't care” addresses. The registers are clocked, and the addresses propagated though the registers, in accordance with a latency bus through which a user defines the desired read/write latency in accordance with user preferences and the desired clock speed of the device. The clock for each register is preferably decoded from the latency bus and hence each register preferably has its own unique clock.

  • Publication number: 20070120062
Abstract: Briefly, in accordance with one or more embodiments, count rates may be obtained from one or more subpixels for a given pixel in an imaging system detector. Count rates may be obtained from individual subpixels, or may be from electronically binned subpixels at least in part in various subpixel arrangements where a selected subpixel arrangement may be adaptively set according to a detected count rate. For lower count rates, two or more subpixels may be electronically binned together and the counts may be obtained from the binned subpixels, for example to mitigate a charge sharing effect. For higher count rates, the count rates of a greater number of subpixels may be individually obtained, for example to mitigate a pulse pile-up effect. Detective quantum efficiency may be optimized over a wider range of photon flux rate via the adaptive subpixel arrangement.

  • Publication number: 20070104311
Abstract: A CT detector includes a pixel having a single photodiode and multiple charge storage devices that are alternately stored and read out. The photodiode is a frontlit diode with a pair of capacitors that alternately store charge generated during data acquisition. Multiple pixels are connected to a single readout amplifier. Charge is continuously acquired from each photodiode and stored on the charge storage devices, but such readout is from a single charge storage device at a time. As such, each charge storage device is read out independently, but the charge storage devices are connected to a common readout channel or port.

  • Publication number: 20070097781
Abstract: A calibration circuit for calibrating the input data path of a digital circuit is disclosed. A simple string of a repeating data pattern such as, e.g., “1100,” is sent on the data path. The digital circuit captures the data using a clock signal, examines the data signal for the predetermined pattern and adjusts a delay applied to the data signal until the predetermined pattern is recognized. Then the delay is further adjusted until the predetermined pattern is no longer recognized indicating that an edge of the eye of the data is near a clocking edge of the clocking signal. The delay applied to the data signal is then further adjusted by a predetermined amount to position the clock edge near the center of the data eye.

  • Patent number: 7208404
Abstract: A method of forming a copper interconnect in an opening within a pattern is described. The copper interconnect has an Rs that is nearly independent of opening width and pattern density. A first copper layer having a concave upper surface and thickness t1 is formed in a via or trench in a dielectric layer by depositing copper and performing a first CMP step. A second copper layer with a thickness t2 where t2?t1 and having a convex lower surface is deposited on the first copper layer by a selective electroplating method. The first and second copper layers are annealed and then a second CMP step planarizes the second copper layer to become coplanar with the dielectric layer. The invention is also a copper interconnect comprised of the aforementioned copper layers where the first copper layer has a grain density (GD1)?GD2 for the second copper layer.
