  • Publication number: 20150377230
Abstract: A portable air compressor includes a box and a compressor unit accommodated in the box. The compressor unit includes a main frame, a cylinder fitted with a piston body, a motor, and a transmission mechanism. The motor drives the transmission mechanism to have the piston body conduct reciprocating motion in the cylinder to produce compressed air, which is transferred to an air storage container. The cylinder and the main frame are integrally formed of plastic. The cylinder defines an exit hole communicating with an inner space thereof. A metal seat is integrally formed at the cylinder. The central hole of the metal seat communicates with the exit hole of the cylinder. A plug is urged by a compression spring to seal the central hole of the metal seat. The metal seat can endure high temperature within the cylinder to ensure air-tightness between the plug and the metal seat.

  • Publication number: 20150337825
Abstract: A portable electric inflator includes an electric air compressor, a pressure gauge, and a box for accommodating the electric air compressor and the pressure gauge. The box defines therein a generally L-shaped space for accommodating a cooling fan, a motor, a main frame with a transmission mechanism, a cylinder with a piston body, and an air storage tank of the electric air compressor. The motor defines two openings at its surrounding wall and multiple downstream through holes at its bottom wall. The main frame is provided with a peripheral wall and beveled radial braces and defines two through holes to facilitate the airflow passing through the main frame. The cooling fan can draw outside air to enter the box and smoothly flow along the generally L-shaped space to quickly dissipate the heat generated by the electric air compressor, whereby the performance and safety of the inflator can be increased.

  • Publication number: 20150330379
Abstract: An air compressor includes a rotating device pivotally connected to a piston body. The rotating device includes a gear body and a counterweight. The gear body is formed together with a counterweight, wherein the counterweight is provided with a crankshaft corresponding to the center of the gear body and a crankpin placed at a distance from the crankshaft. The counterweight is horizontally divided into two integrally formed halves, including a left half and a right half, with a common line connected between the center of the crankshaft and the center of the crankpin, wherein the first half has a weight different from the second half, so that the piston body gathers more rotational momentum from the counterweight at BDC to facilitate upstrokes, so that the piston body can conduct reciprocating motion more smoothly, and thus the service life of the air compressor can be increased.

  • Publication number: 20150300342
Abstract: An air compressor of weight-reduction type is disclosed, wherein the bearing and the main housing thereof are formed integrally, so that when the piston body conducts reciprocating motion within the cylinder at high frequencies, the bearing is firmly fixed on the main housing without nonfunctioning or falling off. Furthermore, the main housing and the cylinder thereof are made of plastic and formed integrally. The main housing is formed with a wind collecting hood to facilitate the air flow being introduced through the main housing for rapidly dissipating the heat generated by the bearing and the heat generated from the reciprocating motion of the piston body. Accordingly, the manufacturing cost of the air compressor can be reduced to achieve an economical design, and the weight of the air compressor can be reduced to facilitate the compressor being carried onto a vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20150300343
Abstract: An air compressor includes an air storage unit defining a first chamber and a cylinder containing a piston body. The top wall of the cylinder is formed with a tubular projection defining a bore to serve as a second pressure chamber. When the piston head of the piston body is almost in contact with the top wall of the cylinder, part of the compressed air can enter the second pressure chamber, so that the piston body can conduct reciprocation motion more smoothly. Furthermore, the cylinder has an open bottom that is divided into two halves according to a central vertical line of the cylinder, wherein one half of the open bottom is horizontal while the other half of the open bottom is slanted. When the piston body is at BDC, the piston head will be entirely within the cylinder and thus keep gas-tight with the cylinder.

  • Publication number: 20150285236
Abstract: An air compressor includes an air storage container, a cylinder fitted with a piston body and a main frame for mounting a motor. The cylinder and the main frame are integrally formed of plastic. The air storage container is detachably mounted to the cylinder. The main frame is provided with though holes for guiding the air flow, generated by a cooling fan, to flow through the main frame. The main frame is formed with two lateral walls and a bottom wall to form a U-shaped wind collecting shell. The second portion of the main frame is held by multiple radial braces, which facilitates the air flow being introduced through the main frame for rapidly dissipating the heat generated from the reciprocating motion of the piston body, so that the operational security can be increased. The non-metal air compressor may lead to a reduction of the manufacturing cost and the weight.
