    Abstract: A touchpad structure includes a substrate, a shielding layer and a sensing layer. The shielding layer fully covers a first surface of the substrate. By using a circuit forming process to form the sensing layer on the shielding layer so as to make the shielding layer sandwiched between the substrate and the sensing layer, the structural thickness and the manufacturing processes of the overall touchpad structure can be significantly reduced.

    Abstract: A structure and method for replacement metal gate technology is provided for use in conjunction with semiconductor fins or other devices. An opening is formed in a dielectric by removing a sacrificial gate material such as polysilicon. The surfaces of the semiconductor fin within which a transistor channel is formed, are exposed in the opening. A replacement metal gate is formed by forming a diffusion barrier layer within the opening and over a gate dielectric material, the diffusion barrier layer formation advantageously followed by an in-situ plasma treatment operation. The treatment operation utilizes at least one of argon and hydrogen and cures surface defects in the diffusion barrier layer enabling the diffusion barrier layer to be formed to a lesser thickness. The treatment operation decreases resistivity, densifies and alters the atomic ratio of the diffusion barrier layer, and is followed by metal deposition.

In the present method, an amount and a relative position of input signals are detected by a sensor module. Then, whether the amount and the relative position are respectively conformed to a predetermined value is determined. If the predetermined values are conformed, whether the input signal is conformed to a specific signal is determined when a variation of the relative position is occurred. Finally, a corresponding mouse function is executed according to a type of the variation if the variation is conformed to the specific signal. As a result, a mouse device is no longer needed for a user to accomplish a directional operation on the electronic device so as to prevent inconvenience of particularly carrying a mouse device.

    Abstract: A thin film solar cell and process for forming the same. The solar cell includes a bottom electrode layer, a light absorbing semiconductor layer, and top electrode layer. The absorber layer includes a p-type interior region and an n-type exterior region formed around the perimeter of the layer from a modified native portion of the p-type interior region, thereby forming an active n-p junction that is an intrinsic part of the absorber layer. The top electrode layer is electrically connected to the bottom electrode layer via a scribe line formed in the absorber layer that defines sidewalls. The n-type exterior region of the absorber layer extends along both the horizontal top of the absorber layer, and onto the vertical sidewalls of the scribe line to increase the area of available n-p junction in the solar cell thereby improving solar conversion efficiency.

    Abstract: A shutdown and self-maintenance operation process of a liquid fuel cell system is introduced. The liquid fuel cell system gives out a shutdown signal and a liquid fuel cell of the liquid fuel cell system stops discharging when receiving the shutdown signal. Thereafter, a self-maintenance operation consisting of the following four steps will be performed: (a) Supply of the cathode gas is stopped in the liquid fuel cell system. (b) After a first duration, the supply of the cathode gas is started. (c) The liquid fuel cell discharges until the output power of the liquid fuel cell is less than or equal to a first predetermined value. (d) The liquid fuel cell stops discharging and the supply of the cathode gas is stopped again. The (a) to (d) four steps are repeated several times before the liquid fuel cell system is completely stopped.
