  • Publication number: 20230297269
Abstract: A hierarchical network enables access for a stacked memory system including or more memory dies that each include multiple memory tiles. The processor die includes multiple processing tiles that are stacked with the one or more memory die. The memory tiles that are vertically aligned with a processing tile are directly coupled to the processing tile and comprise the local memory block for the processing tile. The hierarchical network provides access paths for each processing tile to access the processing tile’s local memory block, the local memory block coupled to a different processing tile within the same processing die, memory tiles in a different die stack, and memory tiles in a different device. The ratio of memory bandwidth (byte) to floating-point operation (B:F) may improve 50x for accessing the local memory block compared with conventional memory. Additionally, the energy consumed to transfer each bit may be reduced by 10x.

  • Publication number: 20230297499
Abstract: A mapper within a single-level memory system may facilitate memory localization to reduce the energy and latency of memory accesses within the single-level memory system. The mapper may translate a memory request received from a processor for implementation at a data storage entity, where the translating identifies a data storage entity and a starting location within the data storage entity where the data associated with the memory request is located. This data storage entity may be co-located with the processor that sent the request, which may enable the localization of memory and significantly improve the performance of memory usage by reducing an energy of data access and increasing data bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 11747877
Abstract: The technology described herein is related to a two-phase deployment-initiated wakeup mechanism for a body-mountable electronic device. During a first phase of the two-phase wakeup mechanism, a motion sensor detects an acceleration event indicative of deployment of the device onto the body of the user. During a second phase of the two-phase mechanism, control circuitry can be adapted to be enabled by the acceleration event. Once enabled, the control circuitry can verify that the device has been launched onto the body of a user via a deployment applicator in which the device is retained until deployment. Once verified, the control circuitry can wake up the body-mountable electronic device by transitioning the device from a sleep state to a functional (or operational) state.

  • Patent number: 11732542
Abstract: Disclosed herein are various embodiments of an Annular Pressure Control Ram Diverter designed to be positioned below the conventional blowout preventer stack, and which will be activated during near balanced drilling operations to seal the annulus between the drill pipe and the casing. Returned drilling fluid and produced fluids are diverted up the annulus between the casing and intermediate casing and through a well head located below an all-inclusive BOP stack. The Annular Pressure Control Ram Diverter employs hydraulic rams to compress a flexible seal around the drill pipe. Some embodiments have an elliptical internal cavity which ensures that the elliptical seal elements cannot rotate. Other embodiments use ridges and grooves on the seal elements and housing to prevent rotation of the seal elements. Doors are provided on each side of the Annular Pressure Control Ram Diverter to permit changing of the seal elements.
