    Abstract: A refrigerator includes a plurality of storage compartments, a plurality of cooling units to cool the plurality of storage compartments, a temperature sensing unit to sense temperatures of the plurality of storage compartments, a drive unit to drive the plurality of cooling units, and a controller to control the drive unit to drive the cooling unit that satisfies a predetermined driving condition. If at least one cooling unit among the plurality of cooling units is being driven, the controller delays driving the other cooling unit even if the other cooling unit satisfies the driving condition. The refrigerator minimizes simultaneous driving a plurality of compressors, which may prevent generation of noise and vibration, as well as excessive power consumption, due to driving the plurality of compressors.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a technique for estimating a remaining capacity of a battery. In particular, the technique measures a current value, a voltage value and temperature of the battery and corrects the current value based on the voltage value. The corrected current value is then integrated and the result is used to calculate a current integration capacity by reflecting a charge/discharge efficiency accordingly. A battery forward voltage capacity is then determined from the measured current value, voltage value and temperature, and used to determine whether it is necessary to correct the current integration capacity. The current integration capacity is then converted into a remaining capacity, if it is determined that a correction is not necessary. If it is determined that a correction is necessary, the current integration capacity is corrected and then the corrected current integration capacity is converted into a remaining capacity.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a technique for determining degradation of a high-voltage battery of a vehicle. More specifically, variations in charge capacity with respect to a predetermined variation in voltage of a high-voltage battery that is currently being slowly charged are obtained depending on degradation degrees of the high-voltage battery. A vehicle equipped with a high-voltage battery having a specification identical to those of the high-voltage battery is used to acquire a charge capacity and a voltage of the high-voltage battery that is currently being slowly charged. A variation in charge capacity with respect to the predetermined variation in voltage is calculated from the charge capacity and the voltage. The variation in charge capacity with respect to the predetermined variation in voltage is compared with the variations in charge capacity with respect to the predetermined variation in voltage depending on the degradation degrees, thus determining a relevant degradation degree.
