  • Patent number: 12124034
Abstract: Head-mounted devices can be formed as a modular system that provides a variety of different components and functions to achieve the results that are desired by a user. The modular configurations allow a user to easily customize a head-mounted device with one or more arm modules to provide features that integrate with other operations of the frame module of the head-mounted device. The arm modules can be easily exchanged with each other to provide different components and functions at different times. Accordingly, a frame module of a head-mounted device need not include permanent components that provide every function that will later be desired by the user. Instead, the head-mounted device can have expanded and customizable capabilities by the use of one or more arm modules.

  • Patent number: 12114134
Abstract: An enhancement equalizer (EEQ) can be configured to compensate for hearing loss. An app or application can assist a user with measuring hearing loss at various frequencies (e.g., threshold sensitivity versus normal hearing). Using these measurements, the system may compute a set of filters for an EEQ that can boost different frequencies by different amounts corresponding to the user's sensitivity to that frequency. The measurement and resulting EEQ may be earphone specific (e.g., both the measurement and the filter computation may depend on the particular type/model of earphone used). In some implementations, the system may allow the user to select correction strength that controls an amount of correction applied (e.g., 25%, 50%, or 75% of full correction). In some implementations, the system may adjust the EEQ and/or correction strength according to the volume of playback (e.g., by applying less correction at higher playback volumes to avoid triggering earphone limiters).

  • Patent number: 12110459
Abstract: The process produces a diesel stream from a biorenewable feedstock by hydrotreating to remove heteroatoms and saturate olefins. The recycle gas is recycled to the hydrotreating reactor without removing hydrogen sulfide, which is needed in the biorenewable feed to keep the hydrotreating catalyst active. A purification unit can be utilized on a purge gas stream to purify the gas and improve hydrogen concentration in the recycle gas when added to the recycle gas.

  • Patent number: 12112681
Abstract: An electronic device may have a display. The display may include an array of pixels formed on a silicon substrate. Display driver circuitry may be formed in a display driver integrated circuit that outputs display data and other control signals for operating the display. An interposer structure may be included in the electronic device. The interposer structure may be attached to the silicon display substrate and may only partially overlap the silicon display substrate. The display driver integrated circuit may be attached to the interposer structure and provide signals to the display pixels through the interposer structure. In another possible arrangement, the display driver integrated circuit may bridge a gap between the silicon display substrate and the flexible printed circuit. The display driver integrated circuit only partially overlaps the silicon display substrate in this arrangement.

  • Patent number: 12112737
Abstract: A system configured to perform acoustic feedback control to enable a device to perform hearing enhancement while suppressing acoustic feedback. During hearing enhancement, the device may amplify environmental noise based on a unique hearing profile associated with the user, personalizing equalization settings, a dynamic range, and/or other characteristics to optimize playback audio for the user. The acoustic feedback control may include an acoustic feedback cancellation (AFC) component that uses an adaptive filter to estimate and cancel a feedback signal. In addition, the AFC component may perform entrainment prevention by detecting periodic signals and adjusting an adaptation rate of the adaptive filter accordingly. Separately, the device may selectively suppress acoustic feedback by detecting frequency bands representing acoustic feedback (e.g., squeal detection) and applying one or more notch filter(s) to suppress the selected frequency bands (e.g., squeal suppression).

  • Publication number: 20240329117
Abstract: Described herein is a hierarchical learning-based method, called HierPINN-EM, to solve the Korhonen equations for multi segment interconnects for fast EM failure analysis. HierPINN-EM split the physics laws into two levels and solve the PDE equations step by step. The lower level employs supervised learning to train a DNN model which takes parameterized neurons as inputs and serves as a universal parameterized EM stress solver for single segment wires. The upper level employs physics-informed loss function to train a separate DNN model at the boundaries of all wire segments to enforce the stress and atom flux continuities at internal junctions in interconnects.

  • Publication number: 20240327329
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and compositions of matter showing that catalytic autoxidation can be used to generate aromatic monomers from C—C linked dimers and oligomers derived from lignin. This is demonstrated by acetylating phenol-rich RCF oil and then conducting aerobic oxidation of the oligomeric fraction of poplar RCF oil with a Co/Mn/Br catalyst mixture in acetic acid. This reaction yields a collection of oxygenated aromatic monomers that represent a 17% increase in monomer yield compared to the RCF process alone.

  • Publication number: 20240329411
Abstract: Head-mountable devices can include connection and engagement mechanisms that facilitate operation of a head-mountable device with an accessory device. Such connections can provide both mechanical engagement and operable communication between the connected devices. A variable lock of the head-mountable device can distinguish between low-impulse and high-impulse forces applied to one or more connection regions. In the event of a low-impulse force, the variable lock can secure segments of a head engager together so the head-mountable device can remain on the head of the user. Optionally, the accessory device can be disconnected from the head-mountable device. In the event of a high-impulse force, the variable lock can allow segments of the head engager to separate so the head-mountable device can be released from the head of the user.

  • Publication number: 20240329658
Abstract: A method of generating a flight plan for an airborne vehicle. The method includes identifying a region of operation of the airborne vehicle and identifying high-intensity radiated field (HIRF) sources associated with the region of operation of the airborne vehicle. A radiation tolerance level is obtained for the airborne vehicle for determining a HIRF stand-off zone for each of the HIRF sources based on the radiation tolerance level of the airborne vehicle and a potential radiated field generated by the HIRF source. The flight plan is generated for the airborne vehicle based on the HIRF stand-off zones within the region of operation.
