  • Patent number: 6613237
Abstract: It is desired to remove matter on a fluid surface of a tank. The tank defines a circular tank orifice comprising a tank orifice rim, the tank orifice rim containing a fluid surface of a fluid, the fluid overflowing the tank orifice rim to form a fluid overflow, the fluid surface defining a fluid surface center. The matter is removed by discharging from near the tank orifice rim a plurality (n) of jets of the fluid towards the fluid surface center. Any matter on the fluid surface is thereby urged toward the tank orifice rim and eventually removed from the fluid surface by the fluid overflow. In one application, the tank comprises a dip tank and the fluid comprises photoreceptor coating solution or components thereof such as solvents, additives, or both.

  • Publication number: 20030161261
Abstract: Restoration of a link in fixed wireless transmission network, in the case of failure, is achieved by redirecting a directional antenna of a first network element from a second failed network element to a third network element, whereby a new microwave link in the network is established. A network element suited to allow fast and effective restoration in a fixed wireless transmission network has a directional antenna and corresponding control circuitry which are controlled by a control device to redirect transmission direction in the case of a failure. Preferably, the directional antenna is a phased array antenna. The control device can either be a central network management system or a local control system of the network node.

  • Publication number: 20030163718
Abstract: Mass data (the contents of arrays, large data structures, linked data structures and similar data structures stored in memory) are common targets for attack. The invention presents a method and system of protecting mass data by mapping virtual addresses onto randomly or pseudo-randomly selected actual addresses. This mapping distributes data values throughout the memory so an attacker cannot locate the data he is seeking, or identify patterns which might allow him to obtain information about his target (such as how the software operates, encryption keys, biometric data or passwords stored therein, or algorithms it uses). Additional layers of protection are described, as well as efficient techniques for generating the necessary transforms to perform the invention.

  • Patent number: 6608994
Abstract: Broadcast programs, e.g., for an audio information program, are divided into one or more segments and are broadcast to a receiver in packet format. The receiver captures the transmitted packets and reassembles the segments and the program for storage and subsequent output to the user. Segment quality of service is evaluated prior to output by ensuring that a minimum percent of packets per segment are usable, and by ensuring that no more than a maximum number of consecutive packets in the segment are unusable. Program quality of service is evaluated by ensuring that a minimum percent of segments per program are usable, and by determining if the first and/or last segment is usable. Different quality of service parameters are specified for particular programs. New quality of service parameters for particular programs are transmitted to the receiver.
