  • Publication number: 20200242243
Abstract: A method and a device for securing a cache against side channel attacks are provided. An allocator identifier ALLOCATOR field is added to each cache entry in the present disclosure. Whenever an entry is allocated in the cache, the identifier of the software domain currently running on the processor is filled into the ALLOCATOR field of the allocation entry. When accessing the cache, the cache entry can be hit only if the identifier of the software domain currently running on the processor is identical to the ALLOCATOR field in the cache entry. If the cache entry to be replaced is invalid or its ALLOCATOR field is identical to the identifier of the software domain currently running on the processor, then the existing entry in the cache is replaced directly; otherwise, the entire cache is emptied.

  • Patent number: 10460642
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are provided to reduce noise present in sensing circuits used for calibrating light emitting diodes (e.g., organic light emitting diodes) in electronic display devices. Such a system may include a display that renders image data using self-emissive pixels. Values on the pixels may be sensed using a current source that outputs a current and a comparator that receives the current. The comparator changes states when a voltage signal output by the capacitor crosses a first threshold voltage or a second threshold voltage. A controller receives a first time when the comparator component changes states based on the voltage signal, receives a second time when the comparator component changes states based on the voltage signal, determines a current value based on the first time and the second time, and calibrates a pixel based on the current value.

  • Patent number: 10412396
Abstract: Methods and devices for encoding and decoding video are described that partition transform blocks into coefficient groups. The coefficients within non-zero coefficients are run-length coded in a reverse scan order within the group. Prior to coefficient coding, data is encoded indicating which coefficient group in group scan order is the last to contain a non-zero coefficient. Then data is encoded indicating the position within that last non-zero coefficient group of the last non-zero coefficient in scan order inside the coefficient group. Thus the decoder is able to decode run-length data knowing the positions of the coefficients and eliminating the need for end-of-block flags.
