  • Patent number: 5993367
Abstract: A method and system for determining the bonding quality of a bonded area of a flapped boxmaking blank in a boxmaking apparatus at an assembling station of a production line, where opposite end portions of the blank are bonded together with confronting edges of companion end flaps defining a required gap, in terms of the outline of the gap. The quality determination is accomplished by irradiating sheetlike light onto the bonded area across the gap, forming an image of the irradiated light as a light image line composed of discrete segments which are arranged along a reference line for the flap portions and include at least one line segment located off the reference line, computing a ratio of a length of the off-line segment to the entire length of the light image line to obtain a width of the gap, and comparing the width of the gap with a preset reference value.

  • Patent number: 5915302
Abstract: To provide a printer ink exchange apparatus which can 1 greatly shorten a wash liquid recovery time, 2 dissolve a dilution by the residual wash liquid in the ink circulation and supply passage so that a lowering of the ink viscosity (density) can be prevented and 3 dissolve a mixing of the ink of the previous order in the ink circulation and supply passage so that the ink for a new order is prevented from becoming turbid, and as a result, can enhance the productivity and the printing quality.

  • Patent number: 5671676
Abstract: A flexographic printer in which ink supplied into a nip portion of inking rolls. The inking rolls include a rubber roll and an anilox roll. An inking roll cover is provided around the inking rolls. Clean air is directed into the inking roll cover through a filter, such as by a fan which blows air through an air vent into the inking roll cover so as to form a slightly higher static pressure within the inking roll cover than in the peripheral area. As a result, air is ejected to the outside of the inking roll cover from a gap between the inking roll cover and the printing cylinder. A dynamic pressure caused by the air prevents paper dust, paper scraps or other scattering dust, etc., from coming within the inking roll cover, thereby preventing such from sticking on the outer circumferential face of the rubber roll or the anilox roll, or from mixing with the ink supplied into the nip portion of the rubber roll and the anilox roll.

  • Patent number: 5363203
Abstract: A system for transmitting still picture data between a first still picture transmitter with a display device and a keyboard disposed on one panel, and a second still picture transmitter with a display device and a keyboard disposed separately. The second still picture transmitter comprises memory means for storing a plurality of still picture files with individual file names, and transfer means for transmitting or receiving the still pictures and the file names. The first still picture transmitter further comprises control means for reading out the data of the file names from the memory means via the transfer means of the second still picture transmitter.

  • Patent number: 5174186
Abstract: A rotary die cutter includes a rotatable anvil cylinder; and a knife cylinder made rotatable in a face-to-face relation to and in synchronism with the anvil cylinder and having knives fixed on the cutter circumference thereof for subjecting a sheet running at the central portions of the two cylinders to a predetermined cutting treatment by clamping the same together with the anvil cylinder. A thin film having a tape adhered thereto is attached removably to the outer circumference of the anvil cylinder in registration with the corresponding edges of the knife cylinder.

  • Patent number: 5004640
Abstract: Multilayered ceramic substrates having Cu electrode patterns in or on ceramic-glass insulating layers which consist essentially of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3, SiO.sub.2, B.sub.2 O.sub.3, Na.sub.2 O, K.sub.2 O, CaO, MgO and PbO. The methods for manufacturing the substrate comprises thermally treating a laminate of alternately superimposing ceramic-glass insulating layers and CuO-based electrode layers of desired patterns in air or in a molecular oxygen-containing atmosphere to eliminate organic binders from the laminates by burning out, reducing the CuO into metallic Cu at low temperatures in an atmosphere containing hydrogen, and firing the thus reduced laminate in an inert gas such as nitrogen. The firing is effected at 850.degree. to 950.degree. C. The multilayered ceramic substrate may also be obtained by forming ceramic-glass insulating layers and CuO-based electrode layers alternately on a sintered ceramic support, followed by the thermal treatment, reduction and firing set forth above.
