  • Patent number: 7249896
Abstract: An array optical sub-assembly includes a base seat, an integrated circuit, a transparent substrate and a photoelectric element. The integrated circuit and the photoelectric element are bonded respectively to the base seat and the transparent substrate. The base seat and the transparent substrate form a sealed space to protect the elements. The photoelectric element and the integrated circuit are separated to avoid thermal interference between the photoelectric element and the integrated circuit. Therefore total performance is increased and fabrication difficulty is reduced.

  • Publication number: 20050135726
Abstract: An array optical subassembly has a substrate, at least one optical active component, a driver IC, a circuit board and a cover covering the foregoing elements. The substrate has two opposite surfaces, wherein one surface is formed by a lens array and the other surface is formed by metal pads, lines and alignment keys. The optical active component has a source array aligned to the lens array when the optical active component is connected to the metal pads on the substrate. The driver IC and the circuit board are also connected to the metal pads on the substrate to drive the optical active component. The lens array is directly formed on the substrate so the source array is aligned to the lens array very well by the alignment keys when the optical active component connected to the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20050121736
Abstract: A receiver optical subassembly for transforming received optical signal into electrical signal includes at least a ceramic substrate, a photo receiver and a transimpedance amplifier. There are high-speed traces formed on the substrate. The positive and negative pads of the photo receiver are coplanar and connected to the traces without wire bonding so as to reduce the parasitic impedance effect and improve the high-speed performance of the optical subassembly. The transimpedance amplifier is electrically connected to the traces via flip chip, wire bonding or other methods. The photo receiver and the transimpedance amplifier are connected via the high-speed traces formed on the substrate.

  • Publication number: 20040231495
Abstract: A digital music conversion device for converting digital music files in a first format into ones in a second format. The converted digital music files are stored in a portable recording medium. Using the disclosed conversion device, a digital music file in the first format that occupies a larger storage space is converted into one that occupies less space. Therefore, the latter can be stored in a portable storage medium. In comparison with the prior art, the invention does not need a computer to perform file format conversions and has simpler operations.

  • Patent number: 6667948
Abstract: An optical recording medium and a method for fabricating the same. A read only data region, a writable/readable data region and a content recording region are formed on a transparent substrate. The read only data region is used to store prerecording data which can only be read but is unable to be rewritten. The writable/readable data region is used to read and write data, while the content recording region is used to record initial address information of the recorded data in the read only data region, the writable/readable data region and the content recording region. A recording layer in the writable/readable data region is formed with the derivative of cyanine dye, phthalocyanine dye or azo dye. Or alternatively, the recording layer is made of an alloy containing tellurium, germanium, or antimony, or an alloy containing indium, silver, antimony or tellurium.

  • Patent number: 6391395
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of forming a polysilicon layer. A light shield layer having a super-resolution near-field structure is arranged on an amorphous silicon layer. The super-resolution near-field structure includes a first dielectric layer, a second dielectric layer, and an active layer between the first dielectric layer and the second dielectric layer. The light shield layer is irradiated by a laser beam having a first intensity to generate a transmitted laser beam having a second intensity. The second intensity is greater than the first intensity. An annealing process is performed to irradiate the amorphous silicon layer with the transmitted laser beam having a second intensity thereby converting the amorphous silicon layer into a polysilicon layer.
