  • Publication number: 20210305893
Abstract: Capacitively isolated current-loaded or current-driven charge pump circuits and related methods transfer electrical energy from a primary side to a secondary side over a capacitive isolation boundary, using a controlled current source to charge isolation capacitors with constant current, as opposed to current impulses, while maintaining output voltage within tolerance. The charge pump circuits provide DC-to-DC converters that can be used in isolated power supplies, particularly in low-power applications and in such devices as sensor transmitters that have separate electrical ground planes. The devices and methods transfer electrical energy over an isolated capacitive barrier in a manner that is efficient, inexpensive, and reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI).

  • Publication number: 20210296896
Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to a system and method for transactive energy (TE) market model. Existing TE models either consider market without a network simulation model or both the market model and the network simulation model are considered in a single formulation which makes the computation complex. The disclosed system considers both the power flow simulation of the network and the market model in a sequence. In other words, the disclosed system decouples the market model and network model to reduce the computational complexity at the same time without sacrificing on the technical feasibility of the solution.

  • Patent number: 11053183
Abstract: We have discovered that addition of water to a mixture of oxygenates increases their volatility relative to methanol. A process and apparatus are disclosed for separating methanol from other oxygenates. Water is separated from a stream comprising water, methanol and at least one other oxygenate to provide a water rich stream and a methanol and oxygenate rich stream. The methanol and oxygenate rich stream and water are fed to a column to provide an oxygenate rich stream and a methanol and water extract stream. The methanol and water can then be readily separated from each other.

  • Publication number: 20210135197
Abstract: Composite silicon based materials are described that are effective active materials for lithium ion batteries. The composite materials comprise processed, e.g., high energy mechanically milled, silicon suboxide and graphitic carbon in which at least a portion of the graphitic carbon is exfoliated into graphene sheets. The composite materials have a relatively large surface area, a high specific capacity against lithium, and good cycling with lithium metal oxide cathode materials. The composite materials can be effectively formed with a two-step high energy mechanical milling process. In the first milling process, silicon suboxide can be milled to form processed silicon suboxide, which may or may not exhibit crystalline silicon x-ray diffraction. In the second milling step, the processed silicon suboxide is milled with graphitic carbon. Composite materials with a high specific capacity and good cycling can be obtained in particular with balancing of the processing conditions.

  • Publication number: 20210042399
Abstract: A machine trains an artificial intelligence engine to facilitate authentication of a request to verify a user. The machine accesses a reference set of obfuscated geolocations generated from actual geolocations from which a device submitted requests to verify the user. The machine groups the obfuscated geolocations into geographical clusters based on a predetermined cluster radius value and calculates a corresponding representative geolocation for each geographical cluster and a corresponding variance distance from the representative geolocation for each geographical cluster. The machine then generates a reference location score based on the representative geolocations of the geographical clusters and on the variance distances of the geographical clusters. The machine trains an artificial intelligence engine to output that reference location score in response to the reference set being input thereto. The trained artificial intelligence engine may then be provided to one or more devices.

  • Publication number: 20210021128
Abstract: In energy markets in which bidding process is used to sell energy, it is important that a mechanism for deciding bidding amount is in place. State of the art systems in this domain have the disadvantage that they rely on simulation data, and also they make certain assumptions, and both the factors can affect accuracy of results when the systems are deployed and are expected to handle practical scenarios. The disclosure herein generally relates to energy markets, and, more particularly, to a method and a system for Reinforcement Learning (RL) based model for generating bids. The system trains a RL agent using historical data with respect to competitor bids places and Market Clearing Prices (MCPs). The RL agent then processes real-time inputs and generates bidding recommendations.

  • Publication number: 20200364754
Abstract: An ad collision machine can be configured to evaluate collision queries for possible ad collisions and is associated with an ad datacenter configured to evaluate and respond to bid requests on behalf of a plurality of advertisers. The ad collision machine can comprise a plurality of nodes and a data cache containing a plurality of user ID-campaign ID keys representing recently submitted bids in response to bid requests. Once a selected node receives a collision query, a user ID-campaign ID key is retrieved from the collision query. If the first key is not found in the data cache, it is written to the data cache by the node and the ad collision machine returns that user ID-campaign ID pair as available to be bid on.
