Abstract: Disclosed is a rubber composition for a studless tire tread, comprising natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber and butadiene rubber, as raw rubber, and including 1˜10 parts by weight of co-poly-(paraphenylene/3,4-oxydiphenylene terephthalamide) fiber based on 100 parts by weight of the solid content of the raw rubber. Particularly, this invention provides a rubber composition for a studless tire tread, in which not only ice braking performance but also handling stability on dry roads and wear resistance are increased.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for storing a broadcast program are provided. The apparatus includes: a signal processing unit which generates an audio/video (A/V) file, an application file, and a first electronic program guide (EPG) file by appropriately processing a plurality of A/V signals, application information, and EPG information, respectively, which are included in an input broadcast program transport stream; a synchronization unit which receives the A/V file, the application file, and the first EPG file from the signal processing unit, generates storage information for the A/V file and storage information for the application file, and converts the first EPG file into a second EPG file comprising the storage information for the A/V file and the storage information for the application file; and a storage unit which stores the A/V file, the application file, and the second EPG file.

Abstract: An optical recording apparatus uses a method of searching for a recording power, where the method includes: searching for a first optimum recording power; recording data on an optical disc at the first optimum recording power; determining whether recording environments are changed when a user desires to re-record the data after recording the data in the optical recording apparatus; re-searching for the optimum recording power when the recording environments are changed, and determining the researched optimum recording power to be a second optimum recording power; and recording the data at the second optimum recording power.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for transmitting and receiving a partial font file are provided. A partial font file transmitter included in the partial font file transceiving apparatus includes a storage unit for storing at least one font file for rendering characters, and a partial font file producing unit for extracting character information from received broadcasting application contents and transforming the font file stored in the storage unit on the basis of the extracted character information into a partial font file. Accordingly, a partial font file corresponding to the character information included in the broadcasting application contents is produced and used in data broadcasting environment, so that relatively rapid data transmission is possible and the usability of a bandwidth increases.

Abstract: Provided are a method and apparatus for setting the time of a real-time clock included in a digital broadcast receiver. Since the digital broadcast receiver sets the time of the real-time clock included therein, based on time information contained in a received transport stream, it is possible to synchronize the time of the real-time clock with a reference time based on the time information contained in broadcast data transmitted by a broadcast transmitter. Accordingly, it is possible to minimize time-related errors during the execution of a time-dependent application program such as a scheduled-recording program.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an array substrate for a liquid crystal display device includes forming a gate line, a gate pad, a gate electrode, and a data pad on a substrate through a first mask process, forming a gate insulating layer on a substantial part of an entire surface of the substrate including the gate line, the gate pad, the gate electrode, and the data pad, forming a data line, a source-drain pattern and an active layer on the gate insulating layer and forming a gate pad contact hole and a data pad contact hole in the gate insulating layer through a second mask process, and forming a pixel electrode, a gate pad terminal, a data pad terminal, a source electrode, a drain electrode, and an ohmic contact layer through a third mask process.

Abstract: A plasma display panel and a method and apparatus for driving the same that are capable of preventing miss-writing and improving discharge and light-emission efficiencies. In the panel, an upper substrate and a lower substrate are opposed to each other with having a plurality of discharge cells therebetween. A first upper electrode group includes at least one electrode having a desired width and is formed on the upper substrate. A second upper electrode group includes at least one electrode having a different width from the first upper electrode group and is formed on the upper substrate in such a manner to be adjacent to the first upper electrode group. A data electrode is provided on the lower substrate in such a manner to be perpendicular the first and second upper electrode group. In the method and apparatus, a short-path discharge occurs between two electrodes spaced at a small distance from each other, of electrodes included in the first and second upper electrode groups.

Abstract: This invention provides a thermally curable resin copolymer (A), composed mainly of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a-1), which produces an acid via decomposition at 150° C. or more, an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a-2) containing an epoxy group copolymerizable with the ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a-1), and an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (a-3) having a reactive silyl group; a thermally curable resin composition including the thermally curable resin copolymer; a cured film formed from the composition; and a liquid crystal display including the cured film. The thermally curable resin composition has extended storage stability and can be formed into the cured film having good adhesion to a substrate.

Abstract: A plasma display panel having higher light-emitting luminance and efficiency of a discharge cell includes: a plurality of first barriers successively formed on a substrate at predetermined intervals; a plurality of first sustain electrodes formed at a width more than 40% of a pixel pitch, which is an overall distance of four of the barriers, to be orthogonal to the first barriers; a plurality of second sustain electrodes spaced apart from the first sustain electrodes at a distance less than 20% of the pixel pitch and mated with the first sustain electrodes one by one; a dielectric layer formed at a thickness of 25 ?m or more to cover the first and second sustain electrodes; and a plurality of pads formed on some of the dielectric layer corresponding to the first sustain electrodes and the second sustain electrodes in each discharge cell.

Abstract: A method of forming double gate dielectric layers composed of an underlying oxide layer and an overlying oxy-nitride layer is provided to prevent degradation of gate dielectric properties due to plasma-induced charges. In the method, the oxide layer is thermally grown on a silicon substrate under oxygen gas atmosphere to have a first thickness, and then the oxy-nitride layer is thermally grown on the oxide layer under nitrogen monoxide gas atmosphere to have a second thickness smaller than the first thickness. The substrate may have a high voltage area and a low voltage area, and the oxide layer may be partially etched in the low voltage area so as to have a reduced thickness. The oxy-nitride layer behaves like a barrier, blocking the inflow of the plasma-induced charges.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a washing apparatus in which the top of a base pan is inclined downward toward a mounting position of a water leakage sensor, so that water, dropped onto the base pan, is gathered toward the water leakage sensor regardless of a water drop position, thereby enabling prompt operation of the water leakage sensor and achieving an enhancement in reliability. Accordingly, a media file a user desires can be easily searched.

In the method, a sustaining pulse for sustaining a discharge of a cell selected in a sustaining interval is alternately applied to each of a sustaining electrode pair. A pulse signal synchronized with the sustaining pulse is applied to a data electrode to cause a discharge for inducing a long-path discharge between the sustaining electrode pair between any one of the sustaining electrode pair and the data electrode.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for reproducing multimedia data using a MusicPhotoVideo (MPV) profile. The method for reproducing multimedia data using a profile complying with the MPV standard, includes: detecting a reference element indicating that a predetermined profile among a plurality of supported profiles is used, in an MPV document; updating the MPV document using information on a profile corresponding to the detected reference element; and reproducing multimedia data by parsing the updated MPV document. Accordingly, by using the MPV standard profile, multimedia data can be reproduced more efficiently.

Abstract: A photosensitive resin composition includes: a copolymer of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and a compound with unsaturated ethylenic bonds; an acrylate multi-functional monomer; a phenolic compound; a photopolymerization initiator; and an organic solvent. The photosensitive resin composition according to the present invention has superior resolution and development property because of enlarged solubility differentiation between exposed and unexposed region. The photosensitive resin composition can be effectively used for a transparent protective layer, an insulating layer, a passivation layer, a patterned spacer, etc., for LCDs.
