    Abstract: A plasma display panel that is capable of improving the discharge and light-emission efficiencies and the brightness. In the panel, a sustaining electrode pair is formed on an upper substrate in such a manner to be positioned at the edges of a discharge cell. A trigger electrode pair is positioned between the sustaining electrode pair to cause a trigger discharge for deriving a sustaining discharge. Dielectric layers are formed on the sustaining electrode pair and the trigger electrode pair to have a different thickness.

    Abstract: A method of forming a hemispherical grain includes cleaning a polysilicon layer of a native oxide in-situ in the processing chamber of the HSG growth reactor. Such a native oxide adversely affects the growing of HSGs from seeds during the thermal treatment performed in the processing chamber. The cleaning is carried out by dry etching the polysilicon layer with plasma. The plasma may be produced from a mixture of fluorine and inert gases having a volumetric ratio within the range of 0.2:100 to 25:100. Such a plasma can be formed by ionizing the gas with an RF power within a range of 20 to 500 Watts. An advantage of using plasma etching to clean the polysilicon of a native oxide is that the plasma etching is an anisotropic process. The present invention is thus particularly useful in the manufacture of a DRAM capacitor.

    Abstract: An analog/digital color video apparatus for adjusting attributes of a color image contained in an analog video signal and a digital video signal and visually displaying an attribute-adjusted color image on a display is provided. When an attribute of an analog video signal having a relatively lower definition is adjusted, the analog/digital color video apparatus converts the analog video signal into a digital signal and adjusts the attribute of the digitized video signal. When an attribute of the digital video signal having a relatively higher definition is adjusted, an attribute of a color image contained in the digital video signal is adjusted without a supplementary signal conversion process such as A/D conversion and D/A conversion. Thus, the analog/digital TV prevents quantization noise which can be occurred in the process of adjusting attributes of the color image.

    Abstract: A double-screen simultaneous viewing circuit for simultaneously displaying two pictures on the main screen of a extra-wide television is provided. The two pictures each have a 4-to-3 aspect ratio and are displayed on left and right subscreens of the main screen. The viewing circuit includes first and second analog-to-digital converters for respectively converting first and second video signals of the two pictures into digital signals. The first and second video signals are respectively converted according to first and second clock signals which have equal frequencies and which are respectively synchronized with synchronizing signals of the first and second video signals. The digital video signals are stored in first and second memories based on the first and second clock signals, and the digital video signals are read from the first and second memories based on a third clock signal.
