  • Publication number: 20080118642
Abstract: More selective and efficient Ni hydrotreating catalysts are those which contain more than about 60% of the Ni content on the peripheral surface of porous supports, such as extruded alumina, which may be obtained by spraying an atomized solution of a Ni compound onto the support and drying it at a temperature in the range of from 200 to 600° C. When used, for example, to remove acetylenic compounds from butadiene streams, higher recovery of the desired butadiene with lower acetylenic content and low heavy polymer deposition is obtained than was possible with prior catalysts.

  • Publication number: 20080120577
Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for controlling a user interface (UI) of an electronic device by using a specific region of a virtual plane. In the method, the virtual plane is initialized according to spatial coordinates of two or more images detected by using locations of the images displayed in an image display unit of a first image capture device and an image display unit of a second image capture device. Furthermore, the location of a marker is determined and is indicated by a specific image on the virtual plane. Furthermore, a screen pointer corresponding to the marker is displayed at a position where the marker is located in an image display unit corresponding to the virtual plane. Furthermore, a menu of the electronic device is selected which is pointed to by the screen pointer while moving the marker. Accordingly, a user can conveniently control the UI of the electronic device by performing a simple operation.

  • Publication number: 20080115338
Abstract: A method for fabricating a supermirror for forming a neutron guide. In the method, a neutron supermirror, which is widely used in the formation of thin films in cold neutron guides and the spectrometer field, is fabricated with nickel thin films and titanium thin films, having varying thickness, using a combination of monochromator structures in which nickel thin films and titanium thin films, having the same thickness, are stacked in the form of periodic structures. According to the method, a combination of monochromator structures having a variety of different thicknesses is formed, such that the amount of the overlap of peaks due to the monochromator structures can be adjusted to increase reflectivity, and some of the monochromator structures can be removed during the fabrication of the supermirror to make it easy to extract monochromatic beams, such that it is easy to fabricate a transmission monochromator, rather than a reflection monochromator.

  • Publication number: 20080117506
Abstract: Disclosed is a three-dimensional image forming screen in which, on the basis of a screen substrate having functions of scattering and transmission, polarizing lines for separating and transmitting left and right images from projectors are formed at one surface of the screen substrate and curved surface lines are formed at the other surface of the screen substrate to have the same direction and size as those of the polarizing lines. With this configuration, scattering and transmission of light, separation, transmission, and combination of left and right images, and expansion of the separated images are performed by the single screen, so as to achieve a wide viewing angle of the screen and to allow a viewer to watch a three-dimensional image having a high vividness without assistance of polarizing glasses. When being coupled with a rotating rod that is rotated by a motor, the three-dimensional image forming screen takes the form of a roll-up screen.
