    Abstract: A method for controlling a mode of digital voice signals in a mobile communication system including a media mutual conversion between analog voice signals and the digital voice signals encoded according to one of a plurality of modes, and a base station controller for exchanging the encoded digital voice signals with the media gateway. If it is necessary to change a mode of voice signals based on a predetermined criterion during transmission of voice data, the base station controller transmits a mode change control request signal to the media gateway. The media gateway analyzes the requested mode, determines whether to change a mode of encoded digital voice signals, generates a response message, and transmits the response message gateway changes a mode of the transcoder at a predetermined time according to the determined mode.

    Abstract: A dental implant includes a fixture and an abutment in a body, and a head for a compaction drill is configured for implanting such an implant. The implant includes an upper abutment portion on which a denture is fixed, a fixture portion implanted in the jawbone and forming single or double threads, and a settling portion formed between the abutment portion and the fixture portion. The invention improves the stability of the implant, improves stabilization of the bone tissue affixed to the implant, effectively seals the socket from its surroundings and facilitates bonding between implant and jawbone. This is achieved because of the early healing of tissue around the implant and the greater surface area in contact with surrounding tissue. As a result, an artificial crown may be coupled with the implant during the same surgery.

    Abstract: A divided Media Access Control (MAC) protocol structure, a data transmission and reception method, and a handover method and system using the structure in a wireless communication system for efficiently managing session information in handover of an MSS (Mobile Subscriber Station). In the MAC protocol structure, a MAC is divided into a MAC-high layer and a MAC-low layer. The MAC-high layer performs session information-related functions and the MAC-low layer performs functions sensitive to a time delay in relation to handover of an MSS. In the handover method, when an MSS in the wireless communication system performs handover between Access Points (APs), session information is managed at a fixed position by an Access Point Controller (APC) including an MAC-high layer or a serving AP. Therefore, the system load can be reduced and communication quality can be improved.
