  • Publication number: 20060023629
Abstract: A mobile communication system using an enhanced uplink dedicated transport channel transmits data at a relatively low effective data rate through autonomous transmission. Data transmission time points for user equipments (UEs) have different values in the autonomous transmission and therefore uplink interference is reduced. An autonomous transmission period N and the number of autonomous transmissions k are determined such that each UE performs the autonomous transmission. A Node B and each UE are notified of possible autonomous transmission time points based on the determined autonomous transmission period N and the determined number of autonomous transmissions k through signaling. The UE transmits the uplink data without the Node B's scheduling at the possible autonomous transmission time points.

  • Publication number: 20060003787
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for data transmission in a mobile telecommunication system supporting an enhanced uplink service are provided. A Transport Format Combination (TFC) selector determines TF information for data to be transmitted through a first data channel not supporting Hybrid Automatic Repeat reQuest (HARQ) and a second data channel supporting HARQ, and determines gain factors for the first and second data channel, and first and second control channel carrying control information for the first and second data channel. The gain factors are input to a physical channel transmission controller, and the physical channel transmission controller reduces the gain factor for the second channel if total transmit power required for transmission of the channels exceeds the predetermined maximum allowed power. A gain scaler adjusts transmit powers of the channels using the scaled gain factor and gain factors for the first data channel, the first control channel and the second control channel.

  • Publication number: 20050271031
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for efficiently transmitting/receiving transmission power status information (TPS) and buffer state information (BO) of a user equipment (UE). Under the assumption that an enhanced uplink dedicated transport channel (EUDCH) is used for an uplink data transmission in an asynchronous code division multiple access (CDMA) system, a scheduler of a Node B performs a scheduling operation such as transmission timing of EUDCH packet data, data rate assignment, and the like. The scheduler receives the EUDCH packet data BO, TPS, and the like, and efficiently performs processes of start/continuation/end of the TPS transmission.

  • Publication number: 20050213677
Abstract: The present invention supposes a situation in which an Enhanced Uplink Dedicated transport Channel (EUDCH) is used in a Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) system. In a user equipment (UE), when physical channels for transmitting EUDCH data are transmitted in addition to existing physical channels, a Peak-to-Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of an uplink transport signal increases. The increase in PAPR depends upon Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor (OVSF) codes allocated to the corresponding physical channels and in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) channels. Therefore, the present invention proposes an apparatus and method for allocating optimum OVSF codes and I/Q channels to EUDCH-related physical channels in order to minimize an increase in PAPR due to EUDCH.

  • Publication number: 20050213497
Abstract: The present invention supposes a situation in which an Enhanced Uplink Dedicated transport Channel (EUDCH) is used in a mobile communication system. The present invention proposes a method for increasing the maximum possible number of code channels for E-DPDCH by dynamically allocating OVSF codes allocated to DPDCH and HS-DPCCH supporting a high-speed downlink packet service, to a E-DPDCH every TTI. Therefore, a Node B can normally demodulate E-DPDCH/DPDCH/HS-DPCCH data, increasing a EUDCH data rate.

  • Publication number: 20050157687
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and apparatus for providing uplink packet data services through an E-DCH in an asynchronous WCDMA system. A transport block size (TBS) for transmitting uplink transport channel data is determined. A combination of a spreading factor and a modulation scheme for uplink channel data transmission, corresponding to the determined TBS, is selected according to transmittable physical channel data bit sizes and puncturing limit values. The TBS is transmitted by incorporating it into control information of the uplink transport channel data. The modulation scheme and spreading factor combination is determined based on a physical channel data bit size that maximizes transmission efficiency and minimizes the number of punctured bits, without requiring an additional physical channel in transmitting the uplink data having the TBS. This method maximizes uplink transmission efficiency to save transmission resources and reduces signaling overhead required to transmit E-DCH control information.

  • Publication number: 20050117519
Abstract: A method and apparatus for efficiently controlling uplink traffic rates, performing scheduling accompanied by fast rate ramping, and transmitting uplink rate assignment information in an asynchronous WCDMA communication system. A Node B determines an allowed current rate for an uplink channel. If the difference between the current rate and the previous rate is two or more levels, the Node B transmits a rate indication indicating the current rate. If the difference between the current rate and the previous rate is zero or one level, the Node B transmits a rate up/down indicating a rate change from the previous rate to the current rate. Also the Node B may transmit the rate indication instead of the rate up/down, periodically or in an event-triggered manner.
