    Abstract: A backrest for a chair, particularly a drum performance chair, which backrest can be adjusted both in height and in tilt angle with respect to the seat. The backrest has two upright arms. A base body is fixed to the chair seat. The base body has an upstanding part. A holder is supported on the upstanding part of the base body. The holder includes an arm sliding part which engage the backrest arms. The arm holder is pivotable about an axis. A holding plate is screw tightened selectively for holding the arms of the backrest at the selected height or loosened to permit the arms of the backrest to be changed in height. A front and back adjusting screw extending from the holder has a contact part that engages the base body. The degree of tightening of the adjusting screw with respect to the holder determines the tilt angle of the holder and the backrest.

    Abstract: A strap clip useful for example for attaching a strap to the body of a musical instrument. The strap is U-shaped and includes an installation seat screwed to the body of the instrument, an upstanding strap hook part and an insertion part for being inserted into a cut in the strap. The cut in the strap is elongated along the strap and also has a wider region where the hook part of the clip is received. The insertion part is wider than the hook part, so that the insertion part holds the hook part of the U-shaped clip in the cut in the strap. The tip of the insertion part is bent downward toward the installation seat.

    Abstract: An installation structure for a high hat cymbal having upper and lower cymbals which are held compressed against each other. A respective elastic member is disposed above the upper cymbal and below the lower cymbal. A pressure applying device applies differential pressure on the elastic member of the upper cymbal for adjusting the compression of the cymbals together. The pressure applying device includes a pivotable plate having edge regions at different radii from the transverse pivot axis of the plate, and a functional member that is pressed upon by the selected edge region of the pivotable plate selectively adjusts the force applied to the elastic members. The various members holding the cymbals, the elastic members and the pressure applying device on the installation rod are disclosed.

    Abstract: In a bridge mechanism for a guitar, the bridge main body having a recess for the saddle and an intermediate member between at least one side of the saddle and the recess. A respective recess or concave primarily in the intermediate member directly beneath where each string passes the saddle, and second regions between the depression where the intermediate member contacts the saddle, thereby to reduce transmission of vibration of the strings to the bridge body and direct the vibrations to a pick up disposed below the saddle. In alternate embodiments, the depressions are on the saddle, there is an intermediate member on both sides of the saddle. All the depressions are in the surfaces of the recess facing the saddle.

    Abstract: A spring and support structure connected through a cam with a rotary shaft for urging the rotary shaft toward a first rotation orientation. The spring urging the shaft to return toward the first rotation orientation when the shaft is rotated off that first orientation. A cam is affixed to and rotates with the shaft. A spring support is pivotally connected to the cam at a bearing between them. A spring extends between the spring support and a support base for urging the shaft and the cam toward the first orientation. The spring support includes a window larger in size than the bearing. The window periphery having an insertion groove in which the bearing sits. The bearing is easily insertable into the window and removable therefrom due to the window size. The spring support is comprised of an inside and outside member which have openings facing in opposite circumferential directions.

    Abstract: A guitar bridge capable of reducing the shifting in the holding position of the guitar strings due to the tilting of the individual string saddles. The guitar bridge has string-receivers for each of the guitar strings on the bridge main body. Each saddle is held by the bridge main body to be freely movable in forward and rearward and in the up and down directions through a front and back adjustment screw that is inserted into the screw holder of the bridge main body and through two up and down adjusting screws that are screwed into the saddle and touch the guitar body. The sides of the saddle are curved surfaces in the up and down direction. The sides contact an adjacent surface, so that the saddle rotates about a longitudinal axis parallel to the string rather than shifting the respective string laterally with respect to others.

    Abstract: A bridge mechanism for an acoustic guitar for fine adjustment of the height and length of the strings. The bridge mechanism is installed on a thin installation plate that is wider laterally than the width occupied by the array of guitar strings. The installation plate is installed directly on the surface of the soundboard. The installation plate has a plurality of string stopper holes and has a concave region on its top surface. A base plate has a plurality of screw holders and is fixed in the concave region. The base plate is arranged in such a way as to correspond to the guitar strings, but does not overlap with the guitar strings. Bridge members are arranged individually and independently for each guitar string. Each has a string holder and each is freely movable back and forth via a string length adjusting screw. The bridge members are also freely movable up and down through a string height adjusting screw. A respective fixing pin fixes each guitar string in a string stopper hole.

A first member that comprises a first horizontal seating plate, a vertical front plate and an upper engaging part at the top of the front plate extending forward of the seating plate and toward the drum. A second member includes a second seating plate normally disposed above the first seating plate of the first member. A hanging part depending from the second seating plate passes through the opening of the front plate of the first member and depends below the first seating plate. A lower drum hoop engaging part on the hanging part. A screw in the second seating plate is adjustable against the first seating plate for moving those seating plates apart, thereby to move the upper and lower engaging parts together against the hoop. A side plate at each lateral side of the hanging part engages the rear side of the front plate of the front part.

    Abstract: A pedal for a musical instrument, or the like, includes a pedal plate and a heel plate that are pivotable with respect to each other. An axle extends between axle insertion holes in the heel plate and extends axially outward into axle receiving holes in the pedal plate. A tightening screw at the heel plate is tightened down on the axle for preventing upward and downward movement. A holder which is tightened into the heel plate has a tapered surface for urging the axle forwardly for preventing forward and rearward movement. At each axle receiving hole in the pedal plate, for holding the axle against axial movement, a sliding bearing around the axle is received in a collar inside the receiving opening. The sliding bearing is tightened into the collar squashing an O-ring between the collar and the sliding bearing which prevents axial movement of the axle.

    Abstract: A clamp device having a main body and a pivotable, pipe clamping holder. A first bolt and nut connect the main body and the pivotable holder and allow them to pivot with reference to the first bolt. Another bolt is pivotally connected to the main body and can be swung in a groove in the second holder and the other nut is held in the groove by a respective nut. The two bolts cooperate to clamp a pipe. An arm to one side of the second holder and the main body is operable for pivoting the second holder around the second bolt to selectively open or close the clamping against the main body. A spring on the first bolt biases the second holder contrary to the force applied to the arm. The main body extends to a further clamping hole. An additional pipe holding, adjustable angle member may be installed in the further hole.

    Abstract: A connecting rod, particularly useful as the rod for supporting a cymbal of a high hat stand. The connecting rod has first and second parts with respective externally screw threaded regions toward each other to be coupled. A connecting nut is internally screw threaded to receive both of the screw threaded ends of the rod parts. The end of the bore in the connecting nut which is toward the first rod part is conically tapered. A compression nut is externally conically tapered and received in the conical portion of the bore of the connecting nut. The first rod part is received in the compression nut, where it is compressed, and is also screwed into the internal screw thread of the narrowed end of the compression nut. A lock nut on the threaded portion of the second rod part is tightened against that end of the connecting nut away from the tapered bore. The first rod part is compressed as the nuts are tightened.

A respective concave formed on the underside of the pedal and on the wheel receives a respective one of the pins and the belt looped thereon. A removable holder secures each of the pins and the belt thereon in the respective concaves on the pedal and the wheel.

    Abstract: A holding structure for an upper post which supports a seat of a chair, such as a drum chair, in order to permit the seat to be rotated and preventing its undesired rotation, without loosening of the seat. The underside of the seat plate carries a holder having an accommodating part and a tightening part which are screw connected to clamp them against the top end region of the upper post. A synthetic resin compressive member surrounds the top end region of the post and includes a radially projecting flange extending between the accommodating and tightening parts for preventing rotation of the compressive member with respect to the accommodating part while permitting the seat to be rotated with respect to the post. The compressive member has a radial cut forming a split ring which are squeezed together as the compressive member is clamped and has a further cut from the first cut extending circumferentially half-way around.

A bar receiving opening opens into the bottom end of the main support. An elongated hole is formed in the side of the support leg and communicates into the bar receiving opening. An end cap is fitted over the bottom end of the leg. The cap has a bottom opening that is aligned with the bar receiving opening at the bottom of the support leg. The cap has an adjustment groove along the side of the cap which overlies the elongated hole in the leg. A tip bar is inserted in the bar receiving opening in the leg and is projectable through the opening in the cap.

The bearing may be a bearing in a pedal operated musical instrument and the bearing may be used at various locations in the instrument, e.g., at the attachment of the pedal to the base, at the attachment of the pedal to the operating shaft for the musical instrument or at the bearing for a swingable arm connected with the operating shaft.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a drum hoop holding device for a drum pedal, and the drum pedal includes a pivotal pedal plate. The holding device includes a hoop clamp body with a front part that supports a jaw that clamps the drum hoop against a support base of the pedal. The support base includes an inclined elastic material surface against which the hoop is clamped. The clamp body is oriented so that the front part is below the pedal while the rear part is laterally out from under the pedal. The clamp body has a hole through it, a spring that pushes the clamp body up, a bolt that passes through the hole with a seat atop the clamp body that receives the tightening nut and the curvature of the seat in the top of the clamp body cooperates with the curvature of the surface of the nut to permit orientation of the clamp body according to the thickness of the drum hoop to the clamp. A tightening bolt at the rear of the clamp body tightens the jaw at the front of the clamp body against the drum hoop.

    Abstract: A connecting structure for connecting an inner and an outer rod wherein at least one and more typically two screws at circumferentially spaced apart locations attach the inner and outer rods. An elastic seating plate has an insertion opening in from one side edge followed by a compressive enveloping opening therein which envelopes each of the screws and is also positioned radially outward of the outer rod, so that when the screws are released from the outer rod, they do not fall away from the seating plate. This also prevents idling of the screws. The connecting structure is usable on a drum pedal where a remote pedal is operated for operating a drum beater through a connecting rod on which there is at least one of the connecting structures.

    Abstract: A connection between a pivotable pedal plate of a foot pedal for operating a drum, cymbal, or the like instrument and a relatively stationary heel plate. The pivot connection includes an axle that extends through flanges projecting rearwardly from the pedal plate and through a projection forwardly of the heel plate that extends into the recess between the flanges of the pedal plate. Screws hold the axle firmly to either the pedal plate or the heel plate and bearings in the other of the heel plate and the pedal plate receive the axle and permit relative motion between the other plate and the axle without any gap between the axle and either of the plates as would be usual in the prior art.
