  • Patent number: 5965003
Abstract: CMPO is safely, reliably and rapidly decomposed under mild conditions. A CMPO-containing substance is emulsified in an electrolyte comprising an oxidation promoter (silver ion) by an emulsifier in an emulsifying tank, this electrolyte comprising the CMPO-containing substance is supplied to an anode chamber, and an electrolytic oxidation reaction is performed by passing an electric current. By emulsifying the CMPO-containing substance, the surface area of CMPO in contact with electrolyte is increased, and electrolytic decomposition is thereby promoted. As sufficient CMPO decomposition is not obtained by passing the emulsion only once through an electrolysis tank 1, a batch oxidation method is employed wherein an anolyte is recirculated by a recirculating pump 3a through the anode chamber, a constant temperature bath 7a and an emulsifying tank 6, so that electrolysis is performed with the CMPO-containing substance permanently emulsified in the electrolyte.

  • Patent number: 5165635
Abstract: A tripod stand for supporting a musical instrument or other object, wherein a main post is provided with an upper slide member to which the upper ends of the three legs of the tripod are hingedly connected. A respective articulated arm connects each leg with the lower portion of the main post. Movement of the slide member up and down causes selective inward and outward movement of the legs. One of the articulated arms is longer than the others and is attached further up its associated leg than the other articulated arms. Consequently, the downward movement of the slide member causes that leg attached to the one arm to move outward further from the main post, making the bottom ends of the legs move from defining an equilateral triangle to defining an isosceles triangle and thereby tilting the main post. Greater stability can be achieved by increasing the angle between the two legs that are opposite the leg having the one longer articulated arm.

  • Patent number: 5062606
Abstract: A tripod stand for supporting a musical instrument or other object, wherein a main post is provided with an upper slide member to which the upper ends of the three legs of the tripod are hingedly connected. A respective articulated arm connects each leg with the lower portion of the main post. Movement of the slide member up and down causes selective inward and outward movement of the legs. One of the articulated arms is adjustable in length and is typically adjusted longer than the other nonadjustable articulated arms when it is desired to tilt the stand toward the leg attached at the one articulated arm. Such adjustability is obtained by making the one articulated arm telescopable in length or by providing that arm with an elongate slot that is slidable along the journal connection of that arm to the respective leg and is selectively positionable at a desired length for that arm.

  • Patent number: 4949928
Abstract: A rotatable holder with position memory particularly useful for restoring a memorized orientation for a support rod for an article. The holder has a fixed part and a rotatable part rotatable on the fixed part. First gearing on the rear of the rotary part meshes with second gearing on the front of the fixed part when a securing bolt moves them together, preventing rotation of the rotary part. Lossening of the securing bolt frees the rotary part to rotate. The rotary part includes a rearwardly extending protrusion with its internally gear toothed. A memory ring disposed inside that protrusion and has peripheral gearing which meshes with the gearing in the protrusion, so that the memory ring rotates with the rotary part. The memory ring is biased by a spring rearwardly along the protrusion to disengage the memory ring from the gear toothing when the securing bolt is loosened, which would enable free adjustment of the rotary part with respect to the fixed part.
