  • Publication number: 20040109461
Abstract: A main unit of a key telephone system accommodates a plurality of terminal units of the key telephone system that use a LAN within company as extension lines and exchange calls with outside lines. The main unit of the key telephone system has a function as an IP server for the terminal units and stores and manages a database of information of text, images, and so forth in a storing device. A terminal unit of the key telephone system accesses an IP address of the main unit of the key telephone system, and logs in to the main unit with predetermined first ID and password. The main unit of the key telephone system authenticates the first ID and password and registers the terminal unit of the key telephone system as an IP extension terminal unit, and allows the KTS terminal unit to voice communicate with another terminal unit of the key telephone system in accordance with the VOIP.

  • Publication number: 20040106403
Abstract: In the QoS control system of the wireless LAN network including the wireless LAN access points, and the wireless LAN terminals to be connected thereto, the wireless LAN access point authenticates the user on the basis of the recorded user's authentication information when the user carries out the authentication request from the wireless LAN terminal. The wireless LAN access point is connected to the servers to notify the wireless LAN access point of the information for identifying the wireless LAN terminal and the recorded user's QoS service content through the communication network. The wireless LAN access point and the wireless LAN terminal carry out the priority control in accordance with the priority information of the QoS service from the server. Even when the terminal to be used is changed, if the same user logs onto the certificate server by using the same authentication information, the same QoS service can be offered consistently.

  • Publication number: 20040105415
Abstract: Disclosed is a wireless LAN (Local Area Network) system which overcomes a troublesome operation and process of setting QoS needed for each LAN at the time of using various LANs in a home, an office, countless Hotspots and so forth. The wireless LAN system has a terminal and LAN control section. The terminal has a QoS (Quality of Service) analyzing/setting section which requests of the LAN control section for a QoS management table as a QoS policy to manage QoS of communication data at the time of establishing connection to a wireless LAN, analyzes the table sent from the LAN control section in response to the request, sets QoS setting data based on the result of that analysis, and sends the data to the LAN control section.

  • Publication number: 20040105421
Abstract: To provide a wireless LAN system, a sleep mode is set for reducing consumed power and, when an arrival of the own address side is present, wake-up is caused to reliably receive the arrival. Specifically, a plurality of hosts 20 such as PC interconnected with an access point 30 via a wireless LAN each include a wireless LAN device 21, the power supply thereof being turned on and off in synchronism to a beacon signal 32 sent out in a predetermined constant cycle from the access point 30 for checking whether any arrival of data addressed to the own host 20 is present. When any arrival 33 of data is present the host 20 starts an application for reception of the arrived data.

  • Publication number: 20040107263
Abstract: An agency communication section is equipped in an intranet, and when communications are made with a slave unit on the Internet which is located outside a firewall, the agency communication section executes encryption/decryption by agency in place of a slave unit having no mechanism for encryption in the intranet. The slave unit having a mechanism for encryption judges whether it is located inside or outside the firewall, and executes encryption if it is located outside or executes no encryption if it is located inside.

  • Publication number: 20040100932
Abstract: An electronic (or computer) apparatus (10) has a current position data output unit (13) and an area data output unit (14) responsive to current position data from the current position data output unit for producing specific country data representative of a specific country including a current position. A wireless LAN connecting unit (12) is preliminarily given a plurality of wireless LAN communication modes corresponding to a plurality of country data. Upon reception of the specific country data, the wireless LAN connecting unit automatically sets, as a selected communication mode, one of the wireless LAN communication modes which corresponds to the specific country data and carries out transmission/reception via a wireless LAN (11) in the selected communication mode. Each of the wireless LAN communication modes is determined by a radio frequency channel and a transmit power level used in a country represented by the country data.

  • Publication number: 20040102174
Abstract: A wireless LAN base station is provided with a noise signal scanning antenna separately from a wireless signal reception antenna. An attenuation circuit section attenuates the received signal from the noise scanning antenna according to an attenuation factor from an attenuation factor storage section. A distance setting storage section stores a distance between the wireless signal reception antenna and the noise scanning antenna. An attenuation factor storage section holds pieces of data each of which indicates the relationship between the distance between the antennas and an attenuation factor in the form of a table. An attenuation circuit section employs the attenuation factor so as to attenuate the received signal from the noise signal scanning antenna. A subtraction circuit section subtracts an output signal of the attenuation circuit section from the signal from the wireless signal reception antenna, and reduces or eliminates a noise from the received signal from the wireless signal reception antenna.

  • Publication number: 20040102220
Abstract: If a PHS wireless LAN combo is constituted in which a PHS base station and a wireless LAN base station are placed in the same case, their frequency bands are different but they interfere with each other due to an influence of higher harmonics, which decreases communication efficiency. When a PHS base station is in a transmitting state and a wireless LAN base station is in a receiving state, a transmission signal from the PHS base station is multiplied by a predetermined attenuation ratio so as to subtract an attenuated value from a received signal of the wireless LAN base station, and when the wireless LAN base station is in a transmitting state and the PHS base station is in a receiving state, a transmission signal from the wireless LAN base station is multiplied by the predetermined attenuation ratio so as to subtract an attenuated value from a received signal of the PHS base station.

  • Publication number: 20040092287
Abstract: A first wireless LAN base station is in an active state. A second wireless LAN base station is in a power off state or a power save mode. The first wireless LAN base station and the second wireless LAN base station are disposed in the same support area. When a fault occurs in the first wireless LAN base station and a communication state of the wireless LAN deteriorates, the first wireless LAN base station detects the fault and places the second wireless LAN base station in the active state. When the first wireless LAN base station confirms that the second wireless LAN base station has been placed in the active state, the first wireless LAN base station sends setting thereof to the second wireless LAN base station. When the first wireless LAN base station confirms that the setting of the second wireless LAN base station is the same as the setting of the first wireless LAN base station, the first wireless LAN base station enters the power off state or the power save mode.
