  • Publication number: 20040087344
Abstract: In a wireless LAN base station device including plural antennas for making communications with a wireless terminal, plural transmission-reception portions connected to the plural antennas, plural control processors for controlling the plural transmission-reception portions, and a central processor for controlling the plural control processors, each transmission-reception portion measures a reception level or/and each control processor measures a communication error occurrence rate, and the central processor controls the plural control processors to select a transmission-reception portion so that the reception level is maximum or/and the communication error occurrence rate is minimum. The control processors cease prescribed transmission-reception portions for a time zone in which the communication load is low.

  • Publication number: 20040088643
Abstract: When transmitting voice data, correction codes each representing data of one data packet are added to the transmitted data from the outset. Thus, it is made possible to restore one data packet lost for the first time, and when and only when two successive data packets are discarded, one packet data is lost. In this way, the data discarding endurance is improved.

  • Publication number: 20040073946
Abstract: A terminal device, includes: a device driver section for controlling an interface section that is connected to a network; a protocol stack section that is connected to the network via the device driver section based on a communication protocol at higher than or equal to layer3 of OSI; and a middleware section that is interposed between the protocol stack section and the device driver section. If a send request for a frame to be sent is issued from the protocol stack section, the middleware section determines a priority of the send request based on header information at layer2 to layer4 of OSI within the send frame, and outputs the send request to the device driver section according to the priority determined.

  • Publication number: 20040066789
Abstract: Disclosed is a bridge apparatus for the relay of a frame between a wire LAN and a wireless LAN. When a frame transmitted by the wire LAN is a specific frame, a QoS middleware unit of the bridge apparatus adds a bridging request to an FIFO queue having a high priority. And when the frame received from the wire LAN is not a specific frame, the QoS middleware unit adds a bridging request to an FIFO queue having a low priority. A bridging unit performs the priority processing for the bridging request present in the FIFO queue having a high priority, and transmits the frame to the wireless LAN.

  • Publication number: 20040066763
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a packet transmission method wherein received packets are sorted into prioritized QoS packets and general packets other than the prioritized QoS packets, the sorted prioritized QoS packets are accumulated, the accumulated QoS packets are capsulated and then transmitted as a capsulated packet, and the capsulated packet is transmitted in matching with the period of a CODEC. In the preferred embodiment, there is provided a wireless LAN system comprising a base station and at least one wireless LAN terminal connected to said base station via a wireless LAN; and a packet transmission system for transmitting a packet between said base station and said at least one wireless LAN terminal via the wireless LAN, the packet transmission system. In the packet transmission system, a packet sorter sorts received packet into prioritized packets and packets other than the prioritized packets. A FIFO queue buffer (QoS queue) accumulates the sorted prioritized packets.

  • Publication number: 20040063458
Abstract: In a wireless LAN communication system, a communication mode is automatically switched between an infrastructure mode and an ad-hoc mode. Communication between two stations is started in the infrastructure mode. Packets transmitted in an infrastructure network are monitors to detect a packet transmitted to an access point and addressed, as a final destination, to one's own station or a destination station. If such a packet is detected, it is determined that a transmitting or source station is in a state that allows an ad-hoc communication. A channel searcher of the access point searches for available channels of an ad-hoc network. A switching controller selects one of the available channels and transmits information indicating the selected channel to the source and destination stations. In response to receiving the information indicating the selected channel, the source and destination stations starts direct communication using the selected channel of the ad-hoc network.

  • Publication number: 20040043767
Abstract: A fast roaming system for changing, in a short period of time, the connection to a roaming destination AP (access point) providing a better communication environment, and for improving a roaming completion rate. In response to a search process performed by a mobile terminal, individual APs transmits AP data required for roaming directly to the mobile terminal. The mobile terminal performs the passive scanning search or the active scanning search for the peripheral APs at short time intervals, and obtains and stores the latest AP data in an AP data table. As a result, only the latest data for the connectable peripheral AP can be stored as a roaming destination in the AP data table. Furthermore, since the order condition is set by the mobile terminal to select the roaming destination AP, there is a high probability that the roaming is completed when the peripheral AP is first selected. Therefore, only a short period of time is required until the roaming is completed.

  • Patent number: 6643944
Abstract: A touch signal probe comprises a fixed member, a movable member, a bias means, a drive member, a deformation touch signal processing circuit, a contact touch signal processing circuit, and a latch circuit. A stylus is attached to the movable member. The drive member relatively drives reseat position elements respectively placed on the fixed member and the movable member. The bias means restores the movable member to a still position. The deformation touch signal processing circuit generates a deformation touch signal. The contact touch signal processing circuit uses the reseat position elements as make-and-break electric contacts to generate a contact touch signal. The latch circuit inputs coordinate values every instant at which the deformation touch signal is output and stores the coordinate values as the most recent coordinate values for update, and when the contact touch signal is output, outputs the most recent coordinate values as detected coordinate values.

  • Publication number: 20030179734
Abstract: A wireless LAN base station scans frequency channels available for use in a wireless LAN, detects a beacon signal of a near-by wireless LAN base station, and thereby the number of the near-by base stations in the wireless LAN is notified. The notified number of the near-by base stations is recorded in a network table. A wireless LAN base station which should determine a radio channel in the next is determined, based on the recorded number of the near-by base stations, using a wireless LAN base station having a smaller number of the near-by base stations as the starting point of radio channel determining process, after the wireless LAN base station at the starting point determines a radio channel. By repeatedly carrying out the above-described operation, the radio channels of the whole wireless LAN are automatically determined.
