  • Patent number: 7528973
Abstract: A facsimile device includes an outer case accommodating a circuit controller and a communication module. The communication module has a router function and can be directly connected to a broadband-capable modem, such as an ADSL modem, by a cable. The communication module can perform bi-directional communications with a web server on the Internet via the broadband-capable modem. The communication module also has a web printing function for printing images of data received from a web server on a recording unit. Hence, by connecting a broadband-capable modem to the communication module, the facsimile device can print data from web servers onto paper to facilitate viewing.

  • Publication number: 20090090424
Abstract: An object is to prevent thermal fatigue, resulting from variations in temperature interfaces, of piping having a fluid-mixing region where fluids of different temperatures are mixed. Piping 1 having a fluid-mixing region M includes a reducer 5 including an end portion 5e disposed substantially on a central axis of a main pipe 2. Low-temperature water flows through the reducer 5 at a lower velocity than high-temperature water flowing outside the end portion 5e. The low-temperature water and the high-temperature water have different temperatures. The low-temperature water and the high-temperature water are mixed in the fluid-mixing region M downstream of the reducer 5. The reducer 5 has a weld line 5f formed to connect the end portion 5e and an elbow portion 5d together. The distance between the weld line 5f and a downstream end 5a is equal to or larger than the inner diameter D of the main pipe 2.

  • Publication number: 20090027419
Abstract: A display device has a display panel, a reading unit, and a control unit. The display panel has a rectangular display region with a first area, and having a longer side and a shorter side with an aspect ratio of a (a>1). The reading unit hat reads a rectangular original image. The control unit controls display of the original image on the display panel. The control unit includes a magnified-image producing unit, an image defining unit, a display control unit. The magnified-image producing unit that magnifies the original image by a predetermined scale to produce a magnified image. The image defining unit that divides the magnified image by a divisional line extending in parallel with either one of a longer side direction and a shorter side direction, to define a partial magnified image having a predetermined width and an area equal to or less than the first area. The display control unit displays a whole of the partial magnified image in the display region.

  • Publication number: 20090022484
Abstract: A steam generator includes a tank having an inlet in a lower part for feeding a fluid, and an outlet in an upper part for discharging a vapor-liquid two phase flow. A heating unit heats the fluid in the tank thereby producing the vapor-liquid two phase flow. A porous cylindrical member projects from the outlet into an inside of the tank and functions as a rectifying unit that homogenizes vapor-liquid distribution in the vapor-liquid two phase flow before the vapor-liquid two phase flow is discharged from the outlet.

  • Publication number: 20090007530
Abstract: In a steam-water separator, a swirl vane (52) is provided inside a riser (51), an annular downcomer space (54) is formed by providing a downcomer barrel (53) outside the riser (51), a deck plate (55) is arranged above the riser (51) and the downcomer barrel (53) with a predetermined space therefrom, an orifice (56) and vents (57) are formed, and aperture ratios of plural slits (58a, 58b, 58c, and 58d) formed on the riser (51) are set at from 30% to 70%. Accordingly, the steam and the water is appropriately separated, and the separated steam is reliably discharged upward from the orifice while the separated water is allowed to reliably flow down through the downcomer space, thereby enhancing steam-water separating efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7418654
Abstract: A communication terminal uses a Web printing function to print a Web page of a URL designated through an operation panel, together with the URL of the Web page and an entry column for entering keywords, on a sheet of paper. When an image is read from the sheet of paper, the communication terminal specifies contents written in a specific position. When any URL is contained in the contents and any keyword is specified together with the URL, the communication terminal registers the URL and the keyword associatively in a data table. After that, a user can make the communication terminal print the Web page of the designated URL by designating the URL registered in the data table on the basis of the keyword corresponding to the URL.

  • Patent number: 7372600
Abstract: JPEG data is efficiently recompressed and transmitted to a remote color facsimile device. Before transmission of recompressed JPEG data, an anticipated transmission time is displayed for enabling the user to easily select the desired compression ratio. To generate recompressed JPEG, a Huffman decoder is provided for decoding encoded data and temporarily generates decoded data. Table generator multiplies the predefined quantization table values by the prescribed value to generate the modified quantization table. Intermediate data generator generates the intermediate data by dividing the encoded data by ratio n, which is derived by dividing predefined quantization table by the modified quantization table. Huffman encoder encodes the intermediate data to create new encoded data. Recompressed JPEG data includes the newly coded data and the modified quantization table.

  • Patent number: 7369257
Abstract: A client terminal scans original images from an original document and transmits a request data and the scanned data to a server via the WWW. The request data requesting the server to perform a 2-in-1 copy operation. The server processes the received scanned data so as to combining two-page-worth of scanned data into one-page-worth of process data, and transmits the process data back to the client terminal. The client terminal prints process data on a recording sheet.

  • Publication number: 20040205226
Abstract: A communication system includes a communication device provided with an accessing system capable of accessing web pages. At least one operation member which is operable with being attached to the communication system is provided. The operation member has a data storage containing first access data which is used by the communication device to access a first predetermined web page. The system includes a transmitting system that transmits the first access data contained in the data storage to the accessing system when the at least one operation member is operated while it is attached to the communication device. In this configuration, the accessing system accesses the first predetermined web page based on the first access data transmitted from the data storage of the at least one operation member.

  • Publication number: 20040160636
Abstract: When a user desires to periodically subscript a certain Web page (to automatically print the Web page), the user makes access to a sign-up page of the desired Web page by using a PC, via a facsimile machine. When the user clicks an “OK” button on the sign-up page, a setting request is transmitted to a Web server through the facsimile machine. In response to the setting request, the Web server sends back a data packet including an HTML document with a comment tag including periodical subscription setting data, as a response to the user. The transmitted periodical subscription setting data is received by the facsimile machine. When receiving the response, the facsimile machine determines whether a receiver's IP address and port number included in the data packet have been registered in the facsimile machine.

  • Publication number: 20030164987
Abstract: A facsimile device downloads data from a web server if a URL of the web server is not listed in an access prohibited database. If it is determined that the downloaded data is of the type for which image formation is prohibited, then a printing function is set to OFF. If the printing function is ON, then a display unit displays an outline of the downloaded data, enabling a user to determine whether or not the downloaded data should be printing out. If the user input a print instruction, then the downloaded data is printed out. On the other hand, if the user input a cancel instruction, then the downloaded data is not printed out.
